Casio DBC611-1VT, 33mm, Black Dial, Silver Stainless Steel Bracelet

The Calibre 3228 module drives this watch, a direct link to the digital revolution of the 1980s. Its core functions include a 25-page telememo for storing names and numbers, an 8-digit calculator operated by the front-facing keypad, and a 1/100-second stopwatch. This is not just a time-telling device; it is a wearable micro-computer from a distinct era of design.

The 33mm stainless steel case has a compact, angular profile that sits comfortably on a wide range of wrists. Its light 48-gram weight makes it an unobtrusive daily companion. The dial is protected by a flat mineral crystal, offering a clear view of the segmented LCD display and its various indicators for alarms and modes.

The watch is fitted with a folded-link stainless steel bracelet that tapers towards a simple signed clasp, reinforcing its vintage character. The combination of the brushed case and polished keypad surround creates a subtle textural contrast. This model is a faithful recreation, offering the authentic experience of a landmark digital watch.

The DBC611-1VT speaks to anyone who reads digital watchmaking as part of the wider story of personal electronics. This is less about chasing specifications and more about wearing a working piece of that history on the wrist. It tends to find two kinds of owners: those who remember the calculator watches of the period firsthand, and a newer audience that came to the format through curiosity rather than nostalgia. Either way, it reads as a quiet statement of interest in where pocket-sized computing began.

The character of the watch lives in its complications. A calculator, a timer, and a stopwatch are all driven from the digital movement and operated through the front keypad rather than a touchscreen. The physical buttons give a tactile, deliberate feel to every input, and the set of functions stays focused. There are no notifications and no connectivity to manage, which is part of the appeal for buyers who want utility without the noise.

Prospective owners should weigh the watch on its own terms. The case is stainless steel, and the dial sits behind a mineral crystal, which resists scratches less well than sapphire and benefits from a little care in daily wear. No water resistance is stated for this reference, so it is best kept away from showers, swimming, and sustained moisture. These are not flaws so much as the boundaries of what the watch is built to do.

For a compact 33mm steel watch that pairs a black digital dial with a steel bracelet and a genuinely useful keypad, the DBC611-1VT holds its place well. The calculator and timer functions are practical rather than gimmicky, and the design has aged into something that still feels coherent. If you understand its limits and value what it represents in the history of the digital watch, it is an accessible and rewarding piece to live with.
