Within Origin, Pennsylvania is a narrow geographic niche that points almost entirely to one place: Lancaster County, the center of gravity for American watchmaking. Hamilton Watch Company was founded here in 1892, produced its first 18-size, 17-jewel pocket watch in 1893, and marketed its Broadway Limited series as the "Watch of Railroad Accuracy." For roughly fifty years, more than half of Hamilton's output was high-grade railroad-standard pocket watches. This corner of the state is one of the last places American series production was genuinely homegrown, and that lineage still runs through a working shop today.

This category suits the collector who cares about where and how a watch is actually built. RGM machines its own cases, turns guilloche dials on antique engines, and hand-applies finishing like damaskeening and anglage; fewer than 300 watches leave the shop each year. Set expectations correctly: this is a workshop signature, not the clinical uniformity of Swiss mass production, and most models fall between $3,000 and $50,000. One important distinction: Hamilton today is built in Switzerland under the Swatch Group and has not made watches in the US since 1969. A modern Hamilton is therefore not "Pennsylvania-made."
