Parts
The visible components of a watch such as the bezel, the lume and the dial.
- Bezel
- The bezel is the ring that holds the crystal and frames the dial. It can be fixed, or it can rotate to measure dive time (a one-way diver's bezel), a second time zone (GMT), or speed (tachymeter).
- Lug-to-Lug
- Lug-to-lug is the vertical distance from the tip of the top lug to the tip of the bottom lug. It, not the case diameter, decides whether a watch will actually fit your wrist.
- Lume
- Lume is the glowing material on the hands and markers that charges in light and glows in the dark, so you can read the watch at night. The most common types are Super-LumiNova and Seiko's LumiBrite.
