Editor's take
The Bertucci DX3 810058391414 presents itself as a no-nonsense field watch, embodying the brand's commitment to rugged, functional timepieces. It's an accessible option for those who appreciate military-inspired aesthetics and require a watch that can withstand the rigours of daily life and outdoor adventures. Its straightforward design prioritises legibility and durability over intricate complications.
Powering this robust timepiece is a reliable Japanese quartz movement, known for its accuracy and low maintenance requirements. The watch features a lightweight yet tough 40mm polycarbonate case, making it comfortable for extended wear without sacrificing resilience. The crystal glass provides adequate protection for the dial, while the 50-metre water resistance ensures it can handle splashes and brief immersion, suitable for most everyday scenarios.
One potential trade-off for its affordability and ruggedness is the use of a polycarbonate case and crystal glass, which, while durable, may not offer the same scratch resistance or premium feel as stainless steel and sapphire found in higher-end field watches. Additionally, the 50m water resistance, while sufficient for general use, means it's not designed for swimming or diving, limiting its utility for serious water sports enthusiasts.
This Bertucci DX3 is an excellent choice for individuals seeking a dependable, unpretentious, and affordable field watch for everyday wear or light outdoor activities. Its nylon strap and buckle clasp ensure a secure fit. For those requiring greater water resistance or a more premium material finish, exploring models with a stainless steel case and sapphire crystal might be a worthwhile alternative.
