Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim or shower with the Guess Desire GW0770L1?
The Guess Desire GW0770L1 has a water resistance of 50 metres, meaning it can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion. However, it is not recommended for swimming, showering, or diving, as prolonged exposure to water pressure or hot water can compromise its seals.
Is this watch suitable for daily active wear?
This watch is designed for daily fashion and light activity rather than rigorous sports. While its stainless steel construction offers durability, the mineral glass and fashion-oriented design make it less ideal for high-impact activities where it might be prone to scratches or damage.
How does the Guess Desire GW0770L1 compare to other fashion watches in its price range?
The Guess Desire GW0770L1 stands out with its elegant blue dial, crystal embellishments, and reliable quartz movement. Compared to alternatives, it offers a strong balance of contemporary style and brand recognition, making it a popular choice for those prioritising aesthetic appeal and a well-known fashion label.
What kind of maintenance does the quartz movement require?
The quartz movement in the Guess Desire GW0770L1 is low-maintenance. Typically, it will only require a battery replacement every few years, depending on usage. Beyond that, occasional cleaning of the case and strap will help maintain its appearance.
Is the stainless steel strap adjustable for different wrist sizes?
Yes, the stainless steel bracelet on the Guess Desire GW0770L1 is generally adjustable. It usually features removable links that can be taken out by a jeweller or watch repair shop to achieve a comfortable fit for various wrist sizes.
Who is this Guess GW0770L1 watch most suitable for?
The Guess GW0770L1 is suitable for women who appreciate a stylish and reliable accessory for everyday wear and dressier occasions. Its elegant design, blue dial, and comfortable stainless steel strap make it a versatile choice for those seeking a fashionable timepiece.
Editor's take
The Guess Desire GW0770L1 is an accessible fashion timepiece, tailored for women seeking contemporary style and everyday practicality. As part of the Desire collection, it embodies Guess's commitment to trend-driven design, offering a watch that complements various outfits. This model is for those who appreciate a watch as a statement accessory.
At its core, the GW0770L1 features a reliable quartz movement, prioritising convenience and accuracy with minimal maintenance. The 36mm stainless steel case provides a comfortable yet noticeable presence, while the matching bracelet ensures a cohesive aesthetic. Protection for the striking blue dial comes from a mineral glass crystal.
While the 50-metre water resistance is adequate for splashes, it's not designed for serious swimming or diving. The use of mineral glass, rather than sapphire, means it may be more susceptible to scratches with rigorous daily wear. This is a common trade-off in fashion-oriented timepieces at this price point.
For individuals seeking a stylish, low-maintenance watch that transitions effortlessly from day to night, the Guess Desire GW0770L1 is a compelling option. Its fashionable design and reliable performance make it a strong daily accessory. Those requiring higher durability or advanced horological features might consider a dedicated sports watch.
