Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze suitable for daily wear and swimming?
The Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze H69459530 is designed for daily wear and outdoor pursuits with its robust construction. It offers 50 metres of water resistance, making it suitable for splashes and light swimming, but it is not recommended for diving or prolonged submersion.
What makes the H-50 manual-winding movement special in this field watch?
The H-50 manual-winding movement in the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze is notable for its impressive 80-hour power reserve. This extended autonomy means you can take the watch off for over three days without it stopping, a significant convenience for a manual-wind timepiece.
How does the bronze case of the Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze age over time?
The bronze case of the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze will naturally develop a unique patina over time. This process is influenced by environmental factors and the wearer's habits, resulting in a distinctive, individualised appearance that tells its own story.
Is the sapphire crystal on the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze scratch-resistant?
Yes, the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze features a durable sapphire crystal. Sapphire is highly resistant to scratches, offering superior protection against daily wear and tear compared to mineral glass, ensuring clear visibility of the black dial.

How does this Hamilton field watch compare to other watches in its price range?
The Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze stands out with its unique bronze case, manual-winding H-50 movement, and strong military heritage. Editor's take
The Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze H69459530 represents a compelling blend of heritage and contemporary appeal, targeting enthusiasts who appreciate a robust, no-nonsense timepiece with a story. This 38mm field watch, with its distinctive bronze and titanium case, offers a unique aesthetic that will evolve with the wearer, making it an ideal companion for daily adventures and casual wear.
Central to its appeal is the reliable Hamilton H-50 manual-winding movement, a workhorse calibre derived from the ETA 2801-2, boasting an impressive 80-hour power reserve. This extended autonomy is a significant upgrade, providing practical convenience for a hand-wound watch. The watch also features a durable sapphire crystal and a 50-metre water resistance, ensuring it can withstand the rigours of everyday life and light outdoor activities.
While the 50-metre water resistance is sufficient for splashes and light swimming, it falls short of what some might expect from a dedicated tool watch for more serious aquatic pursuits. Furthermore, the bronze case, while aesthetically pleasing and unique, requires some care to manage its natural patination process, which might not appeal to all users seeking a low-maintenance option.
Ultimately, the Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze is best suited for individuals who value a watch with character, a strong military lineage, and the tactile experience of a hand-wound movement. Its unique material and historical design make it a conversation starter, offering a distinct alternative to more common stainless steel field watches in a similar price bracket. Consider this model if you seek a timepiece that truly ages with you.
