Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB suitable for daily swimming and showering?
The Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB features 200m water resistance, making it suitable for daily swimming, snorkelling, and surface water sports. However, it is generally not recommended for showering due to potential temperature changes and soap exposure affecting seals.
What kind of movement powers this Invicta Pro Diver watch?
This Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB is powered by a reliable Japanese automatic movement, specifically the NH35A calibre. This means it winds itself with the motion of your wrist and does not require a battery.
How does the 8928OB compare to other dive watches in its price range?
The Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB stands out with its distinctive 23k gold-plated stainless steel case and bracelet, offering a luxurious aesthetic often found in higher price brackets. Its NH35A automatic movement provides solid reliability, making it a strong alternative for those seeking a bold look and proven mechanics.
What is the recommended service interval for the Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB?
For automatic watches like the Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB, a general service interval of 3 to 5 years is often recommended to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the NH35A movement. This typically includes cleaning, lubrication, and seal checks to maintain water resistance.
Is the 40mm case size suitable for all wrist sizes?
The 40mm case size of the Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB is considered a versatile and popular size that fits a wide range of wrist sizes, typically from 6.5 to 8 inches comfortably. Its moderate dimensions ensure a balanced presence on the wrist without being overly bulky.
What are the key features of the dial and bezel on this model?

Editor's take
The Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB stands as an accessible entry point into the world of dive watches, particularly for those who appreciate a bold aesthetic with a touch of gold. Launched in 2004, this model from the popular Pro Diver collection offers a blend of classic dive watch functionality and a distinctive visual presence, appealing to men who seek a robust yet stylish timepiece for daily wear and casual adventures.
Powering this timepiece is the reliable Japanese automatic movement NH35A, a workhorse calibre known for its durability and ease of service. Encased in a 40mm 23k gold-plated stainless steel case and protected by a mineral crystal, the watch boasts a practical 200-metre water resistance. This makes it suitable for various surface water sports, ensuring reliability without the need for frequent battery changes.
One aspect to consider is the choice of mineral crystal over sapphire, which is more common in higher-end dive watches. While functional, mineral glass is more susceptible to scratches, potentially impacting the long-term pristine appearance of the dial. Additionally, its 200m water resistance, while ample for most users, does not meet the ISO 6425 standard for professional saturation diving.
For individuals seeking a visually striking dive watch with a proven automatic movement and a strong value proposition, the Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB is a compelling option. Its gold-plated finish and blue dial offer a unique flair, distinguishing it from more conventional stainless steel alternatives. Those prioritising scratch resistance or professional diving capabilities might explore other options in the broader dive watch segment.
