Description
The Orient calibre F6722 automatic movement provides a reliable and proven engine for this timepiece. With both self-winding and hand-winding capabilities, along with hacking seconds for precise time-setting, it delivers the core functions expected of a modern mechanical watch. This in-house movement ensures a dependable experience for daily use.
The watch is constructed around a stainless steel case measuring a versatile 39mm in diameter. This contemporary sizing makes it suitable for a wide variety of wrist sizes without feeling oversized or insubstantial. Its face is protected by a flat sapphire crystal, offering superior scratch resistance compared to mineral glass and ensuring a clear view of the rich green dial.
The design prioritises function and legibility. A substantial water resistance rating of 200 metres provides confidence for use in and around water, a specification not always found in field watches. Paired with a comfortable and water-ready green rubber strap that matches the dial, this watch is equipped for outdoor activity right out of the box.

Editor's take
This Orient is for the enthusiast seeking a robust, no-fuss automatic field watch from a brand with legitimate in-house manufacturing. Its most notable feature is the combination of a sub-40mm case with a workhorse automatic movement, the F6722. This pairing hits a sweet spot for wearability and mechanical authenticity that is increasingly sought after.
The case dimensions, specifically the 39mm diameter, make it an excellent daily driver for a broad audience. Orient's choice to use a flat Sapphire Crystal is a significant value-add, providing the scratch resistance needed for a watch intended for active use. The impressive 200m water resistance rating further elevates its utility, pushing it beyond the typical specifications for a watch in this category.
The main consideration for this reference, the RA-AC0Q11E, is its exclusive pairing with a Rubber strap. While this choice is practical, waterproof, and comfortable, it does limit the watch's aesthetic versatility for wear in more formal or business settings. A buyer wanting an all-purpose piece would need to source a compatible 20mm aftermarket bracelet or leather strap separately.
For the individual who prioritises a compact and durable automatic with a strong dial colour proposition, this model is a superb choice. It delivers on the core tenets of a field watch with well-judged specifications and the reliability of a Japanese-made movement. It stands as a strong contender for anyone's first or fiftieth mechanical watch.
