Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Ravel Football Watch R4402 suitable for swimming or showering?
No, the Ravel Football Watch R4402 is explicitly stated as "Not Water Resistant." It should be removed before any water exposure, including swimming, showering, or even heavy splashing, to prevent damage to the quartz movement.
What type of battery does this watch use and how is it replaced?
The Ravel Football Watch R4402 uses a Japanese battery for its quartz movement, which is easily replaceable. It's recommended to have a professional replace the battery to ensure proper sealing and function, though it can be done at home.
For what age group is this Ravel watch most suitable?
This watch is designed for kids, particularly young boys aged approximately 5-10 years old. Its 27mm case size and easy fasten nylon strap are ideal for smaller wrists, making it a comfortable and engaging first timepiece.

The Ravel Football Watch R4402 gift set includes an easy-to-use blue micro torch. It requires AA batteries, which are not included in the package, to operate. It's a simple, fun accessory for kids.
What makes this watch a good choice compared to other kids' watches?

Editor's take
The Ravel Football Watch R4402 is a delightful entry-level timepiece designed to introduce young boys to the concept of time-telling with a playful twist. Positioned as a gift set, it combines a robust, football-themed watch with a practical micro torch, making it an engaging package for active children. Its vibrant aesthetic and child-friendly features cater directly to its target audience, fostering an early appreciation for watches.
At its core, this Ravel model is powered by a reliable quartz movement, ensuring accurate timekeeping without the need for winding, which is ideal for a child's first watch. The 27mm brass case offers a durable yet lightweight construction, complemented by a clear glass crystal protecting the multicolour dial. The comfortable nylon strap, secured with a simple buckle, is designed for ease of use and resilience during daily play.
While the Ravel R4402 excels in its playful design and accessibility, its "Not Water Resistant" rating is a significant limitation. This means the watch cannot withstand splashes or brief immersion, requiring careful removal during handwashing or any water-related activities. For children who are frequently around water or prone to getting wet, a model with at least 30m water resistance would be a more practical choice, even if it means sacrificing the football theme.
Ultimately, the Ravel Football Watch R4402 is best suited for young boys aged 5-10 who are just beginning to learn to tell time and have a keen interest in football. It serves as an excellent first watch, particularly for those who appreciate a themed accessory and the added fun of a micro torch. For parents seeking a more robust or water-friendly option, exploring other kids' sport watches with higher water resistance ratings might be advisable, though they may lack the specific football aesthetic.
