Diver's Extension
A diver extension is a folding or sliding section built into a dive watch clasp. It lets the bracelet open up by a set amount so the watch fits over a thick wetsuit sleeve, then closes back to its normal length on dry land.

No matter how water resistant a dive watch is, it does no good if it will not sit on the wrist. A diver's extension, also called a wetsuit extension, solves exactly that problem: a length of bracelet folded away inside the clasp, ready to be opened when you need it.
How it works
The extension comes in two main forms, both built into the clasp. The fold-over type is a small panel hinged into the clasp; flip it open and it adds a fixed amount of length to the bracelet. The ratcheting type draws the bracelet out from within the clasp step by step. Both serve the same purpose, making room for the bulk of a wetsuit cuff.
Why it matters
- Neoprene allowance: a wetsuit adds several millimeters around the wrist, and a bracelet sized to bare skin will not close over it
- Quick adjustment: the extension opens and shuts in seconds, even with gloves on
