Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Casio WS1500H WS-1500H-5BV suitable for daily swimming and showering?
The Casio WS1500H WS-1500H-5BV features 100m water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and snorkeling. However, it's generally recommended to avoid wearing any watch, even water-resistant ones, in the shower due to potential issues with steam and soap affecting the seals over time.
What makes the Casio WS1500H different from other digital watches in its price range?
The Casio WS1500H WS-1500H-5BV stands out with its unique moon phase and fishing mode, which are not commonly found in this segment. Combined with its robust 50.1mm resin case, 100m water resistance, and comprehensive digital functions, it offers a distinct blend of outdoor utility and durability.
How long does the battery typically last in the Casio WS1500H, and can it be replaced?
While the exact battery life isn't specified, Casio quartz watches are known for their long-lasting batteries, often several years. Yes, the battery in your Casio WS1500H can be replaced by a qualified watch technician when it eventually runs out, ensuring the watch's longevity.
Is the Casio WS1500H WS-1500H-5BV comfortable for smaller wrists despite its 50.1mm case size?
The Casio WS1500H WS-1500H-5BV has a substantial 50.1mm case, which is quite large. While the resin material keeps it lightweight, individuals with smaller wrists might find it wears quite prominently. It's best to try it on if possible to assess comfort and fit for your specific wrist size.

This Casio WS1500H is ideally suited for outdoor and sports activities. Its 100m water resistance makes it great for swimming and fishing, while the chronograph, alarm, and dual time functions support various athletic and travel needs. The durable resin construction also handles rugged use well.
Editor's take
The Casio WS1500H WS-1500H-5BV positions itself as a highly functional and durable digital watch for the active individual. Its 50.1mm resin case and resin strap are built to withstand the rigors of outdoor activities, offering a lightweight yet robust presence on the wrist. This model, part of the WS1500H series, combines Casio's renowned reliability with practical features tailored for adventurers.
At its core, the watch is powered by a reliable quartz movement, ensuring precise timekeeping alongside a suite of digital complications. These include a 1/100-second chronograph, multiple alarms, a full auto-calendar, and notably, a moon phase display with a dedicated fishing mode. The 100m water resistance makes it a capable companion for swimming and fishing, extending its utility beyond mere time-telling.
While the WS1500H excels in functionality and durability, its large 50.1mm case size and utilitarian aesthetic might not appeal to those seeking a more understated or formal timepiece. The resin glass, though durable against impacts, may be more prone to scratches compared to sapphire. It's a tool watch through and through, prioritizing function over high-end finishing.
Ultimately, the Casio WS1500H WS-1500H-5BV is an excellent choice for individuals who require a dependable, feature-rich digital watch for sports, outdoor pursuits, or casual daily wear. For those prioritizing a more classic look or premium materials, exploring Casio's G-Shock line for enhanced ruggedness or a traditional analog sports watch might offer suitable alternatives.
