Editor's take
The Citizen BH1673-50E presents a compelling option for those seeking a classic, understated timepiece with reliable performance. This model, part of Citizen's accessible quartz offerings, caters to individuals who appreciate traditional design cues like its distinctive rectangular case and integrated gold-tone bracelet. It's an ideal choice for daily wear, blending seamlessly into various personal styles without demanding excessive attention.
At its core, the BH1673-50E is powered by a dependable Japanese quartz movement, ensuring precise timekeeping that requires minimal intervention. The watch features a robust stainless steel case with a modest 26mm diameter, making it comfortable for smaller wrists or those who prefer a more discreet profile. The mineral crystal offers adequate protection for the dial, which includes a practical date complication.
However, the watch's 30-meter water resistance rating means it is only suitable for splashes and brief immersion, not for swimming or diving. Enthusiasts seeking a more robust or feature-rich timepiece for active lifestyles might find this limitation restrictive. The gold-tone finish, while elegant, may also show wear more prominently over time compared to brushed stainless steel.
Ultimately, the Citizen BH1673-50E is best suited for individuals desiring a stylish, low-maintenance watch for office environments or casual outings. Its classic design and quartz accuracy make it a solid everyday companion. For those prioritizing higher water resistance or mechanical movements, alternatives in Citizen's Promaster or automatic collections would be more appropriate.
