Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Invicta Speedway 46308 suitable for daily swimming?
The Invicta Speedway 46308 has a water resistance of 50 meters, which means it can withstand splashes and brief immersion. However, it is not recommended for serious swimming, diving, or showering, as prolonged exposure to water pressure might compromise its seals.
What type of movement powers this Invicta Speedway watch?
This Invicta Speedway 46308 watch is powered by a reliable quartz movement. This ensures accurate timekeeping with minimal maintenance, as it runs on a battery rather than requiring manual winding or wrist motion.
How does the Flame Fusion crystal compare to sapphire glass?
The Flame Fusion crystal on the Invicta Speedway 46308 offers a good balance of scratch and shatter resistance, often performing better against impacts than sapphire. While sapphire is generally more scratch-resistant, Flame Fusion provides a durable and cost-effective alternative for daily wear.
What wrist sizes can comfortably wear the 46mm Invicta Speedway?
With its 46mm case size, the Invicta Speedway 46308 is designed for larger wrists, typically fitting wrist circumferences from 7 to 9 inches comfortably. The 22mm lug width also allows for various strap options if you wish to customise its fit.
Is the nylon and stainless steel band durable for active use?
Yes, the combination of stainless steel and nylon in the band of the Invicta Speedway 46308 offers excellent durability. Nylon provides flexibility and comfort, while stainless steel elements ensure robustness, making it suitable for active daily wear and casual sports.
Editor's take
The Invicta Speedway 46308 positions itself as an accessible and robust timepiece for the modern man who values a bold aesthetic and reliable functionality. Part of the popular Speedway collection, this model continues Invicta's tradition of offering watches with a substantial wrist presence and a blend of sporty and casual design cues. It's particularly suited for those seeking a durable everyday watch without a premium price tag.
At its core, the Speedway 46308 is driven by a dependable quartz movement, ensuring precise timekeeping that requires minimal intervention. The watch features a generous 46mm stainless steel case, providing a commanding look on the wrist, complemented by a versatile combination of stainless steel and nylon for the band. Its Flame Fusion crystal provides enhanced scratch resistance, while its 50-meter water resistance supports light water activities.
While the 50-meter water resistance is adequate for splashes and brief immersion, it's important to note that this watch is not designed for serious swimming or diving activities. Enthusiasts looking for a dedicated dive instrument with ISO certification or higher water resistance might find this limiting. The absence of advanced complications keeps the dial clean but might not appeal to those desiring more intricate horological features.
Ultimately, the Invicta Speedway 46308 is an excellent choice for individuals seeking a visually striking and reliable quartz watch for casual and everyday use. Its blend of materials and bold sizing makes it a statement piece. For those prioritising extreme water sports or intricate mechanical movements, exploring Invicta's Pro Diver series or other brands might offer more specialised alternatives.
