The Casio A700W A700WEV-7AVT is rated as "Water Resistant," meaning it can withstand splashes and light rain. It is not designed for swimming, showering, or any prolonged water immersion. For water activities, a watch with a higher metre rating is recommended.
What kind of battery does this Casio A700W use and how long does it last?
This Casio A700W A700WEV-7AVT uses a CR1616 battery, which provides an approximate lifespan of three years. Battery replacement should be done by a qualified technician to ensure water resistance is maintained.
How does the A700W compare to other Casio Vintage models in terms of durability?
The A700W features a resin and chrome-plated case and mineral glass, offering good daily durability. While robust for everyday wear, it is not as impact-resistant as models like the G-Shock series, which are built for extreme conditions.
Is this watch suitable for all wrist sizes, given its unisex design?
The Casio A700W A700WEV-7AVT has a compact 35.5mm case size and a lightweight design at 50 grammes, making it suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes. The stainless steel bracelet also features an adjustable clasp for a comfortable fit.
What makes the Casio A700W a good choice for daily wear?
The Casio A700W A700WEV-7AVT is an excellent choice for daily wear due to its lightweight resin case, comfortable stainless steel bracelet, and clear digital display. Its minimalist retro style also makes it versatile for various outfits and occasions.
What are the main advantages of a quartz movement in this watch?
The quartz movement in the Casio A700W A700WEV-7AVT provides exceptional accuracy and requires minimal maintenance compared to mechanical watches. This ensures reliable timekeeping without the need for frequent adjustments, making it a practical choice for everyday use.
Editor's take
The Casio A700W A700WEV-7AVT from the Vintage Retro Collection offers a compelling blend of nostalgic design and modern digital functionality, appealing to a broad unisex audience. This timepiece embodies the enduring appeal of Casio's classic digital watches, providing a stylish yet understated accessory for everyday wear. Its compact dimensions and lightweight construction make it an ideal choice for those who prefer a less obtrusive wrist presence.
At its core, this model features a reliable quartz movement ensuring accurate timekeeping, a hallmark of Casio's digital offerings. The watch is housed in a 35.5mm resin and chrome-plated case, protected by a durable mineral glass crystal, which balances cost-effectiveness with scratch resistance. A comfortable stainless steel bracelet with an adjustable flip clasp secures it to the wrist, complementing the watch's sleek profile. Power is supplied by a CR1616 battery, offering an impressive approximate three-year lifespan.
While the A700W A700WEV-7AVT excels in style and basic functionality, its "Water Resistant" rating means it is only suitable for splashes and light rain, not for swimming or showering. The resin case material, while lightweight, may not offer the same premium feel or long-term durability against heavy impacts as a solid stainless steel construction. Users seeking a more robust or water-ready digital watch might find this a limiting factor.
This Casio A700W is best suited for individuals who appreciate its distinctive retro aesthetic and require a reliable, low-maintenance daily watch for casual or office settings. For those needing higher water resistance or extreme durability, exploring Casio's G-Shock line or other digital watches with a specified depth rating would be a more appropriate alternative.
