Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CIVO T205 suitable for daily swimming or showering?
The CIVO T205 has a water resistance of 50 metres, which means it can withstand splashes and brief immersion. However, it is not recommended for swimming, showering, or diving, as prolonged exposure to water pressure or steam can compromise its seals.
What kind of activities is this sport watch best suited for?
This CIVO T205 digital sport watch is ideal for daily wear and light outdoor activities such as hiking, running, or general sports. Its robust design and digital functions like a stopwatch make it a practical companion for active lifestyles.
How does the CIVO T205 compare to other digital watches in its price range?
The CIVO T205 stands out with its large 50mm dial for excellent readability and a comprehensive set of basic digital functions including alarm and calendar. While many alternatives offer similar features, the T205 emphasises a military-inspired aesthetic and durable plastic construction.
What is the expected battery life for the Japanese quartz movement?
The CIVO T205 uses a reliable Japanese quartz movement powered by a standard battery. While specific battery life can vary, most quartz watches typically offer a lifespan of 2 to 3 years before a battery change is required.

Editor's take
The CIVO T205 positions itself as an accessible and functional digital sport watch, catering to men seeking a robust timepiece for daily wear and outdoor pursuits. Its military-inspired design, coupled with a substantial 50mm case, ensures a commanding presence on the wrist and excellent legibility, a key consideration for active users. This model is a straightforward choice for those prioritising utility over intricate mechanical movements.
At its core, the T205 is powered by a reliable Japanese quartz movement, known for its accuracy and minimal maintenance requirements. This digital watch offers a suite of practical complications, including an alarm, calendar, and stopwatch, all easily managed through its intuitive interface. The silicone strap with a tang buckle provides comfort and durability, essential for a watch intended for active use.
While the CIVO T205 boasts a 50-metre water resistance, it is important to note that this rating is generally suitable for splashes and brief immersion, not for serious swimming or diving, despite its "sport watch" designation. The use of a plastic case and glass crystal, while contributing to its affordability and lightweight nature, may not offer the same scratch resistance or premium feel as sapphire or stainless steel alternatives.
Ultimately, the CIVO T205 is an ideal choice for individuals seeking a no-frills, highly functional digital watch for everyday adventures or as a reliable backup timepiece. For those requiring deeper water capabilities or a more premium build, exploring dedicated dive watches or models with sapphire crystal might be a more suitable alternative within a different price bracket.
