Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Diesel Spiked DZ4655 suitable for swimming or showering?
The Diesel Spiked DZ4655 has a water resistance of 50 metres, which means it is suitable for splashes and brief immersion in shallow water. However, it is not recommended for showering, snorkelling, or diving, as the water pressure and soap could compromise the seals.
What type of movement does the Diesel Spiked DZ4655 use?
This Diesel Spiked DZ4655 watch is powered by a reliable quartz movement. This ensures accurate timekeeping with minimal maintenance, as it relies on a battery-powered oscillating crystal rather than mechanical components.
How does the 49mm case size of the Spiked DZ4655 compare to other chronographs?
The 49mm case of the Diesel Spiked DZ4655 is considered quite large, offering a bold and prominent presence on the wrist. Many chronographs typically range from 40mm to 44mm, making this model a statement piece for those who prefer oversized watches.
What kind of glass protects the dial of this Diesel Spiked watch?
The Diesel Spiked DZ4655 features a mineral glass crystal protecting its blue dial. Mineral glass is a hardened glass that offers good shatter resistance and is commonly used in fashion watches for its durability against impacts.
Can the stainless steel bracelet of the Diesel Spiked DZ4655 be adjusted?
Yes, the stainless steel bracelet of the Diesel Spiked DZ4655 can typically be adjusted by removing links to achieve a comfortable fit. It is recommended to have this done by a professional watchmaker to ensure proper sizing and reassembly.
Is the Diesel Spiked DZ4655 a good choice for daily wear?
The Diesel Spiked DZ4655 is designed with a robust stainless steel case and a durable mineral glass, making it suitable for daily wear. Its bold aesthetic and chronograph function add versatility, though its large size might be a factor for some daily activities.
Editor's take
The Diesel Spiked DZ4655 positions itself as a bold and accessible chronograph for men who favour a distinctive, fashion-forward aesthetic. This timepiece, part of Diesel's Spiked collection, is designed to stand out, offering a robust presence on the wrist that complements a casual yet assertive personal style.
At its core, the Spiked DZ4655 relies on a dependable quartz movement for precise timekeeping and its integrated chronograph function. The substantial 49mm stainless steel case is paired with a durable mineral glass, providing adequate protection for daily wear. Its 50-metre water resistance ensures practicality for everyday splashes, though it is not intended for serious water sports.
While the large case size and bold design are key attractions, they might not appeal to all. Individuals with smaller wrists or those preferring a more understated look might find the 49mm diameter overwhelming. Furthermore, the mineral glass, while robust, offers less scratch resistance compared to sapphire crystals found in higher-end timepieces.
Ultimately, the Diesel Spiked DZ4655 is best suited for men seeking a statement piece that blends fashion with basic chronograph utility. For those prioritising advanced horological features or extreme durability, exploring alternatives with a higher water resistance or sapphire crystal might be advisable, but for a stylish, everyday watch, this model delivers.
