Editor's take
The GOLDEN HOUR PM-001 positions itself as a practical and fun entry-level digital watch for children, blending basic timekeeping with modern fitness tracking capabilities. Its robust plastic case and comfortable rubber strap are well-suited for the rigours of a child's daily activities, making it a sensible choice for parents seeking durability and functionality.
At its core, the PM-001 features a reliable quartz movement that powers its digital display, ensuring accurate time. The inclusion of a 50-meter water resistance rating is a significant advantage, allowing children to wear it during swimming or showering without concern. Furthermore, the integrated stopwatch and multiple alarm functions add layers of utility, supporting both play and structured routines.
While the watch excels in durability and basic features, its primary focus on digital functionality means it lacks the traditional charm or intricate mechanics of an analogue timepiece. The absence of a specific glass material specification might suggest a more basic acrylic or mineral crystal, which could be prone to scratches over time compared to sapphire.
Ultimately, the GOLDEN HOUR PM-001 is an excellent choice for parents looking for an affordable, feature-rich, and resilient watch for their active children. It serves as a great first watch, encouraging time-telling skills and physical activity, and stands out amongst other basic digital options with its rechargeable battery and fitness tracking.
