Is the Invicta Speedway 20074 suitable for swimming or showering?
The Invicta Speedway 20074 has a water resistance of 50 metres (165 feet), making it suitable for short periods of recreational swimming. However, it is not recommended for showering, diving, or snorkelling, as prolonged exposure to pressurised water can compromise its seals.
Who is this 51mm watch suitable for, considering its large size?
The Invicta Speedway 20074, with its substantial 51mm case diameter, is best suited for individuals with larger wrists or those who prefer a bold, statement-making timepiece. Its prominent size ensures a noticeable presence on the wrist, aligning with contemporary trends for larger watches.
What are the main functions of the quartz chronograph movement in this watch?
The Invicta Speedway 20074 features a precise quartz chronograph movement with three subdials. These subdials measure 60 seconds, 30 minutes, and 1/10 of a second, allowing for accurate timing of various events, making it a versatile tool for daily activities and sport.
How does the Invicta Speedway 20074 compare to other chronographs in its price range?
The Invicta Speedway 20074 stands out with its large 51mm stainless steel case and Flame Fusion crystal, offering robust build quality and scratch resistance often found in higher-priced alternatives. While many chronographs offer similar timing functions, its distinctive bold design and size are key differentiators.
What type of battery does the Invicta Speedway 20074 use, and how often should it be replaced?
The Invicta Speedway 20074 is powered by a standard watch battery, typical for quartz movements. The exact battery type is not specified, but they generally last 2-3 years. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure water resistance is maintained.
Is the polyurethane strap durable enough for daily sport use?

Editor's take
The Invicta Speedway collection, exemplified by the 20074 model, caters to enthusiasts who appreciate a bold aesthetic and robust functionality. This timepiece is designed for individuals seeking a commanding presence on the wrist, blending a sporty appeal with practical chronograph features.
At its core, the Speedway 20074 is powered by a reliable quartz movement, ensuring precise timekeeping and minimal maintenance. Its chronograph function, featuring 60-second, 30-minute, and 1/10-second subdials, offers versatile timing capabilities. The substantial 51mm stainless steel case is protected by Invicta's proprietary Flame Fusion crystal, a synthetic sapphire variant known for its scratch resistance.
While the 50-metre water resistance is suitable for recreational swimming, it falls short for serious diving or prolonged water sports, which might be a consideration for active users. The watch's considerable 51mm case diameter also means it will wear quite large, potentially overwhelming smaller wrists and limiting its versatility for formal attire.
Ultimately, the Invicta Speedway 20074 is best suited for those who prioritise a bold, sporty look and the practical utility of a quartz chronograph for everyday timing tasks. If a more understated profile or higher water resistance for professional use is required, exploring models with a smaller case or a dedicated dive watch certification would be advisable.
