Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Maserati Epoca R8853118022 suitable for daily wear and sports activities?
Yes, the Maserati Epoca R8853118022 is designed for daily use with its durable alloy steel case and 100m water resistance. While it can withstand splashes and swimming, it's not ideal for high-impact sports or diving due to its mineral glass and general design.
What is the difference between this Maserati Epoca and other chronographs in its price range?
The Maserati Epoca R8853118022 stands out with its distinctive automotive-inspired design and reliable Miyota 2315 quartz movement. Compared to other chronographs, it offers a blend of Italian style and practical functionality, making it a unique choice for those valuing brand heritage.
What kind of maintenance does a quartz watch like the Epoca R8853118022 require?
Quartz watches like the Maserati Epoca R8853118022 generally require minimal maintenance. The primary service needed is a battery replacement, typically every 2-3 years, depending on usage. It's also advisable to have the water resistance seals checked periodically.
Can I swim or shower with the Maserati Epoca R8853118022?
With 100 metres of water resistance, the Maserati Epoca R8853118022 is suitable for swimming and snorkelling. However, it is generally not recommended to wear any watch in the shower due to temperature changes and soap, which can compromise the seals over time.
What wrist size is suitable for the 42mm Maserati Epoca R8853118022?
The 42mm case size of the Maserati Epoca R8853118022 is versatile and generally suitable for most men's wrists, typically fitting wrist circumferences from 6.5 to 8 inches comfortably. Its stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted by removing links for a perfect fit.
Editor's take
The Maserati Epoca R8853118022 positions itself as a stylish quartz chronograph for men who appreciate automotive-inspired design and reliable functionality. This timepiece from the Epoca collection offers a sophisticated aesthetic that transitions seamlessly from casual to more formal settings, appealing to those seeking a versatile daily companion.
Underneath its elegant exterior, the Epoca is powered by a dependable Miyota 2315 quartz movement, known for its accuracy and low maintenance. The 42mm alloy steel case provides a substantial wrist presence, while the mineral crystal glass offers adequate protection against everyday bumps and scratches, complemented by a practical 100-metre water resistance.
One consideration for potential buyers is the use of mineral glass rather than sapphire, which, while cost-effective, is more prone to scratching over time. Additionally, while the chronograph function is present, the absence of specified subdial count might indicate a more aesthetic rather than highly functional approach to the complication.
Overall, the Maserati Epoca R8853118022 is an excellent choice for individuals desiring a fashionable, robust, and accurate quartz watch with a touch of racing heritage. Those prioritising extreme scratch resistance or advanced chronograph features might explore alternatives with sapphire crystals or more intricate mechanical movements.
