Eco-Drive
Eco-Drive is Citizen's light-powered quartz technology. A cell beneath the dial turns any light into energy, so the watch never needs a battery change and, fully charged, keeps running for months in the dark.
Citizen made its first light-powered analog watch in 1976 and carries that technology on today under the Eco-Drive name. A light cell behind the dial stores sunlight or room light in a rechargeable cell; that cell lasts for decades, and there is no battery to replace. A fully charged Eco-Drive will keep running for months in a dark drawer. It is ideal for anyone who wants a wear-it-and-forget-it watch with no maintenance, and there is no spent battery to throw away either.
