The CIVO 8356 stands out with its clear, easy-to-read dial featuring both 12 and 24-hour markers, a crucial red seconds hand for pulse measurement, and a robust Japanese quartz movement. Its focus on practical features for medical professionals offers excellent value compared to more generic watches.
Can I wear this watch in the shower or while swimming?
The CIVO 8356 has a water resistance of 30m, meaning it can withstand splashes and brief immersion, such as during hand washing. However, it is not designed for showering, swimming, or diving, as prolonged exposure to water pressure can compromise its seals.

Editor's take
The CIVO 8356 positions itself as a purpose-built timepiece for the demanding world of healthcare, catering specifically to women in medical professions. Its design philosophy centers on clarity and resilience, making it a practical choice for nurses, doctors, and students who rely on precise timekeeping for critical tasks. This model emphasizes functionality over elaborate complications, aligning with the needs of its target audience.
At its core, the CIVO 8356 is powered by a reliable Japanese quartz movement, ensuring consistent accuracy without the need for daily winding. The 38.5mm stainless steel case offers a robust yet comfortable presence on the wrist, complemented by a silicone strap that is both easy to clean and comfortable for extended wear. With 30m water resistance, the watch is well-suited to frequent hand washing and exposure to common clinical disinfectants.
While highly functional for its intended use, the CIVO 8356's minimalist aesthetic and focus on utility mean it may not appeal to those seeking a fashion-forward accessory or a watch with advanced horological complications. Its primary strength lies in its straightforward design for professional use, rather than as a versatile piece for diverse social settings.
This watch is an excellent recommendation for medical professionals seeking a durable, easy-to-read, and low-maintenance timepiece for their daily work. For those desiring a more versatile or aesthetically complex watch for off-duty wear, exploring other categories like dress watches or more intricate chronographs might be a better alternative.
