Yes, the Hamilton Khaki Field H70515137 is designed for daily wear and is water resistant to 100 meters. This makes it suitable for swimming, showering, and various outdoor activities, but it is not intended for professional diving. Its robust construction ensures durability for everyday use.
What kind of movement powers this Hamilton Khaki Field watch?
This Hamilton Khaki Field watch is powered by the Swiss H-10 automatic movement. This reliable calibre offers an impressive 80-hour power reserve, meaning it can run for over three days without needing to be wound or worn, providing excellent convenience for the wearer.
How does the H70515137 compare to other field watches in its price range?
The Hamilton Khaki Field H70515137 stands out with its rich military heritage, robust 42mm stainless steel case, and the extended 80-hour power reserve of its H-10 automatic movement. Compared to many alternatives, it offers a strong blend of Swiss craftsmanship, durability, and historical authenticity, making it a compelling choice for enthusiasts.
What wrist sizes is the 42mm Hamilton Khaki Field H70515137 suitable for?
With its 42mm case diameter and 22mm lug width, the Hamilton Khaki Field H70515137 generally fits medium to larger wrists well, typically those with a circumference of 6.75 inches (17 cm) and above. For smaller wrists, it might feel substantial, so trying it on is recommended for optimal comfort and aesthetic.
What type of crystal does the Hamilton Khaki Field H70515137 use?
The Hamilton Khaki Field H70515137 features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. This premium material offers superior clarity and durability compared to mineral glass, protecting the black dial from everyday wear and ensuring long-lasting legibility.

Editor's take
The Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic H70515137 stands as a cornerstone of accessible, robust field watch design, drawing directly from Hamilton's storied military heritage. This timepiece is an excellent choice for enthusiasts seeking a blend of historical authenticity and modern reliability, making it suitable for daily wear and light outdoor activities. Its classic aesthetic ensures it remains a versatile staple in any collection, appealing to those who value understated functionality.
Powering this reliable companion is the Hamilton H-10 automatic movement, a derivative of the ETA C07.611, renowned for its impressive 80-hour power reserve. This extended autonomy is a significant advantage, allowing the watch to be set aside for a weekend without losing time. Coupled with a durable 42mm stainless steel case and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the H70515137 is built to withstand the rigors of an active lifestyle while maintaining its clear legibility and aesthetic integrity.
While the Khaki Field H70515137 excels in its intended role, its 100-meter water resistance, though sufficient for swimming, means it is not a dedicated dive watch. Users requiring deeper underwater capabilities or ISO 6425 certification should consider purpose-built dive watches. Additionally, its 42mm case size might feel substantial on smaller wrists, so a wrist check is advisable for those with wrist circumferences below 6.5 inches.
Ultimately, the Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic H70515137 is highly recommended for individuals seeking a dependable, historically rich, and versatile everyday watch. It offers exceptional value within its segment, particularly for those who appreciate the blend of Swiss automatic precision and a rugged, military-inspired design. For alternatives, consider other field watches in the 38-40mm range for a more compact fit, or dedicated dive watches for enhanced water performance.
