Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Hamilton Khaki Field H69401131 suitable for daily swimming and showering?
The Hamilton Khaki Field H69401131 has a water resistance of 50 meters (5 ATM), which means it can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion. It is generally suitable for recreational swimming but not recommended for showering with hot water or high-impact water sports like diving, as this can compromise the seals over time.
What kind of movement does this Hamilton Khaki Field watch use?
This Hamilton Khaki Field H69401131 model is powered by a reliable Swiss quartz movement. This type of movement is known for its accuracy and low maintenance, as it uses a battery to energize a crystal, resulting in minimal annual deviation in timekeeping.
How does the H69401131 compare to other field watches in its price range?
The Hamilton Khaki Field H69401131 stands out with its classic 38mm size, durable stainless steel construction, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Compared to alternatives, it offers a strong blend of Hamilton's rich military heritage and Swiss quartz precision, making it a robust and stylish choice for everyday wear.
What is the recommended service interval for a quartz watch like the H69401131?
For a quartz watch like the Hamilton Khaki Field H69401131, regular service is less frequent than for mechanical watches. Typically, the battery will need to be replaced every 2-5 years. It's also advisable to have the water resistance seals checked during battery changes to maintain its 50m water resistant integrity.
Is the 38mm case size of this watch suitable for all wrist sizes?
The 38mm case size of the Hamilton Khaki Field H69401131 is considered a versatile and classic dimension, making it suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes, especially those between 6.5 and 7.5 inches. Editor's take
The Hamilton Khaki Field H69401131 represents a modern interpretation of a classic military-inspired timepiece, offering robust functionality in a compact 38mm form factor. This watch is ideally suited for individuals who appreciate a blend of historical design and contemporary reliability, making it a versatile choice for daily wear and light outdoor activities.
Powering this model is a dependable Swiss quartz movement, known for its precision and low maintenance requirements, ensuring the watch keeps accurate time without the need for regular winding. The watch features a durable stainless steel case paired with a sapphire crystal, providing excellent scratch resistance and clarity for the black dial, which is enhanced with Super-LumiNova for visibility in various lighting conditions.
While its 50-meter water resistance is sufficient for everyday splashes and recreational swimming, it is not designed for serious diving or prolonged submersion. Enthusiasts seeking a watch for more rigorous aquatic adventures might consider models with higher water resistance ratings and screw-down crowns. The foldover clasp on the stainless steel bracelet offers a secure and comfortable fit, though some purists might prefer a traditional pin buckle for a more authentic field watch feel.
Ultimately, the Hamilton Khaki Field H69401131 is an excellent option for those desiring a reliable, stylish, and historically rich field watch that doesn't compromise on modern convenience. Its accessible price point and robust build quality make it a strong contender against other entry-level Swiss quartz field watches, appealing to both new collectors and seasoned enthusiasts.
