Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Invicta Angel 17480 suitable for daily swimming or showering?
The Invicta Angel 17480 has a water resistance of 50 meters (165 feet), which means it is generally suitable for short periods of recreational swimming. However, it is not recommended for showering, diving, or snorkeling, as the water pressure and temperature changes can compromise the seals over time.
What type of movement does the Invicta Angel 17480 use, and how accurate is it?
This Invicta Angel model utilizes a reliable quartz movement. Quartz watches are known for their high accuracy, typically losing or gaining only a few seconds per month, making them an excellent choice for precise daily timekeeping without the need for winding.
How does the Invicta Angel 17480 compare to other sport watches in its price range?
The Invicta Angel 17480 stands out with its vibrant pink polyurethane strap and Invicta's Flame Fusion crystal, which offers good scratch resistance. While many sport watches in this range might offer similar water resistance, the Angel 17480 provides a distinctive aesthetic and the proven reliability of a quartz movement, appealing to those who prioritize style and functionality.
What kind of maintenance does the Invicta Angel 17480 require?
As a quartz watch, the Invicta Angel 17480 requires minimal maintenance. The primary upkeep involves replacing the battery, which typically lasts several years, when it runs out. Beyond that, occasional cleaning with a soft cloth and ensuring the crown is pushed in after setting the time will help maintain its condition.
Is the Invicta Angel 17480 suitable for all wrist sizes?
The Invicta Angel 17480 features a 38mm stainless steel case, which is a versatile size that fits a wide range of women's wrists comfortably. The polyurethane strap with a buckle clasp allows for easy adjustment, making it suitable for most wrist circumferences, typically from 6 to 8 inches.
Editor's take
The Invicta Angel 17480 positions itself as an accessible and stylish option for women seeking a versatile timepiece. Part of the popular Angel collection, this model combines a feminine aesthetic with practical features, making it suitable for both casual wear and light athletic pursuits. Its design, featuring a silver sunray dial and a vibrant pink strap, aims to catch the eye whilst offering everyday functionality.
At its core, the Angel 17480 is powered by a dependable quartz movement, a choice that prioritizes accuracy and low maintenance, ideal for a daily wear watch. The 38mm stainless steel case provides a robust yet comfortable presence on the wrist, protected by Invicta's proprietary Flame Fusion crystal (synthetic sapphire), known for its resilience against scratches. A water resistance of 50 meters ensures it can handle splashes and brief immersion, expanding its utility.
One aspect to consider is its water resistance; while 50m is adequate for surface swimming, it is not designed for diving or prolonged water sports. Those requiring a more robust aquatic companion might need to explore models with higher ISO-certified water resistance. Additionally, the polyurethane strap, while comfortable and colorful, may not offer the same longevity or premium feel as a metal bracelet or high-grade leather.
Ultimately, the Invicta Angel 17480 is a solid recommendation for women who desire a fashionable yet functional sport watch for everyday use. It's particularly well-suited for those who appreciate a pop of color and the reliability of a quartz timepiece without the need for advanced horological complications. For a similar price point, alternatives might include other fashion-forward quartz watches from brands like Fossil or Michael Kors, though few will offer the same Flame Fusion crystal at this level.
