How does this watch compare to other entry-level women's quartz watches?
The Timex Easy Reader 30mm stands out with its signature Indiglo light-up dial for superior legibility and its classic, easy-to-read Arabic numerals. While many offer basic timekeeping, this model prioritizes clear display and a comfortable expansion band for everyday wear.
What type of battery does the Timex Easy Reader 30mm use and how often should it be replaced?
This Timex Easy Reader 30mm TW2P78700 is powered by a standard watch battery. The typical lifespan for a quartz watch battery is 2-3 years, but this can vary based on usage, especially with frequent use of the Indiglo light.
What wrist size does the expansion band fit?
The adjustable two-tone 14mm stainless steel expansion band on the Timex Easy Reader 30mm TW2P78700 is designed to comfortably fit wrist circumferences up to 7.5 inches. It offers a flexible fit without the need for frequent adjustments.

Editor's take
The Timex Easy Reader 30mm TW2P78700 is a quintessential everyday timepiece, designed with clarity and comfort in mind for the modern woman. This model, part of the enduring Easy Reader collection, upholds Timex's legacy of accessible and reliable watchmaking, making it a popular choice for those seeking straightforward functionality.
At its core, this watch features a dependable quartz movement housed within a compact 30mm brass case, ensuring precise timekeeping without the need for manual winding. The standout feature is undoubtedly the Indiglo light-up dial, which provides excellent legibility in low-light conditions, a practical innovation that has become a Timex signature. The mineral glass crystal offers good scratch resistance for daily wear.
While its 30m water resistance is adequate for splashes and brief immersion, it is not designed for swimming or showering, which might be a limitation for those with a more active lifestyle. Furthermore, the expansion band offers convenience but may not provide the secure, custom fit of a traditional buckle or deployant clasp for all wrist sizes.
This Timex Easy Reader is an ideal choice for women who prioritize legibility, ease of use, and a classic aesthetic for daily wear. It serves as an excellent entry-level watch or a reliable secondary timepiece. For those requiring greater water resistance or a more robust build, exploring models with a stainless steel case and higher WR ratings would be advisable.
