Description
The Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro is a rugged smartwatch built for hikers, trail runners, cyclists and divers who want a durable outdoor companion. It pairs a bright AMOLED display with sapphire glass and is offered in 48mm or 44mm sizes.
The watch uses a titanium alloy bezel and buttons, a silicone strap with a buckle closure and an octagonal case form. Water resistance is rated at 100 m (10 ATM), with diving certification to 45m, and dual-band GPS draws on six satellite systems.
Offline maps with route planning, a built-in two-colour style flashlight with SOS signal and up to 17 days of battery life make it practical on multi-day trips. With 180+ sport modes, Bluetooth calls and an on-board speaker and mic, it also handles everyday use, from training sessions to incoming messages.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim with the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro?
Yes, swimming is listed among its sports, and the 100 m (10 ATM) rating suits pool and open-water sessions. It is also certified for diving to 45m. Rinse it with fresh water after salt water use and avoid pressing buttons underwater when you can.
Is it fine for the shower and daily wear?
Showering is well within its 10 ATM rating, and the silicone strap with buckle handles daily wear comfortably. Hot steam and soaps can wear on seals over time, so many owners remove it for long hot showers to protect the T-Rex 3 Pro.
Will it fit my wrist, 48mm or 44mm?
The T-Rex 3 Pro comes in 48mm or 44mm, so you can match it to your wrist. Smaller wrists usually suit the 44mm, while larger wrists carry the 48mm better. The strap has a 20 mm lug width for replacements.
How is it different from a standard sport watch?
Compared with a basic sport watch, the T-Rex 3 Pro adds sapphire glass, a titanium alloy bezel, dual-band GPS and offline maps with route planning. A G-Shock is simpler and lasts years on a battery, whilst this model suits navigation and training.
How long does the battery last, and how do I service it?
Amazfit quotes up to 17 days of battery life, though heavy GPS use and the bright AMOLED screen shorten that. The battery is rechargeable and not user-replaceable, so service is through Amazfit support. Keep the charging contacts clean and dry.
Does it work with any phone?
Bluetooth calls and notifications work with the watch paired to your phone, but Zepp Flow message replies require an Android phone. Anyone wondering who should buy it should consider that detail if they use an iPhone.
Editor's take
Amazfit's T-Rex line has long been the brand's answer to rugged outdoor wearables, and the T-Rex 3 Pro continues that idea for hikers, trail runners and recreational divers. It is sold in 48mm or 44mm, so a wider range of wrists is covered than in many tough-watch rivals.
The hardware is where it earns attention: sapphire glass over a 3000-nit AMOLED panel, a titanium alloy bezel, and dual-band GPS pulling from six satellite systems. That combination matters on tree-covered trails and between tall buildings, where single-band receivers tend to drift. Water resistance of 100 m (10 ATM) is backed by diving certification to 45m.
The trade-off is the nature of a smartwatch. There is no mechanical movement, and the battery, rated for up to 17 days, will still need regular charging, so it does not offer the set-and-forget ownership of a quartz or automatic piece. Zepp Flow replies also require an Android phone, which limits that feature for iPhone users.
It suits people who want one device for navigation, training and the occasional dive, with its silicone strap and buckle closure ready for rough use. For a more traditional look at a similar budget, a quartz field watch or a Casio G-Shock is the alternative to consider, though neither matches the offline maps.

Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro 44mm
48mm Case With Presence
The T-Rex 3 uses a 48.0mm case sized for outdoor wear, with a footprint that sits comfortably over a jacket cuff or a bare wrist. It reads as a purpose-built field instrument, not a dress watch adapted to a screen.
Sapphire Crystal Protection
A sapphire crystal covers the display, rated 9 on the Mohs scale and well suited to the scuffs that come with rock, trail and tool contact. It resists scratching far better than mineral glass, so the face stays legible after seasons of hard use.
Rated To 100 Metres
Water resistance of 100m covers swimming, snorkelling and rain-soaked days without special handling. As with any mechanical or electronic watch, the rating assumes the crown and buttons are in normal use and not under extreme pressure.
Silicone Strap For Rough Use
The silicone strap stays supple in cold weather, rinses clean after mud or salt water, and dries quickly after a swim. It is a practical choice for a watch meant to be worn through long days outdoors without fuss.
Built For Field Reading
As a smart watch, the T-Rex 3 puts time, navigation and activity data on one dial-like display designed for quick glances. Large case dimensions give the interface room to breathe, which helps in motion and in poor light.
A Tool Watch For The Outdoors
Reference A2549 pairs a 48.0mm case, sapphire crystal, silicone strap and 100m water resistance in a coherent package. Each spec serves the same purpose: a rugged smart watch that holds up where daily wear gets demanding.
