Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Armani Exchange AX1326 Outerbanks suitable for daily swimming?
Yes, the AX1326 Outerbanks has a water resistance rating of 50 metres (165 feet), which means it is suitable for recreational swimming in shallow water. However, it is not recommended for diving or high-impact water sports.
What type of movement does this watch use?
The Armani Exchange AX1326 Outerbanks is powered by a precise quartz movement. This ensures reliable and accurate timekeeping with the convenience of battery operation, requiring minimal maintenance compared to mechanical watches.
How does the AX1326 compare to other sport watches in its price range?
The AX1326 stands out with its bold, fashion-forward design and 44mm resin case, offering a distinct aesthetic. While many competitors might offer similar quartz movements, this model emphasises style and brand appeal, making it suitable for those prioritising looks over advanced technical features.
What is the durability of the mineral crystal on this watch?
The Armani Exchange AX1326 features a mineral crystal, which provides good resistance against everyday scratches and impacts. While not as scratch-proof as sapphire, it is a robust choice for a daily wear watch and can withstand typical wear and tear.

Editor's take
The Armani Exchange AX1326 Outerbanks presents itself as a contemporary sports chronograph, tailored for individuals seeking a blend of fashion-forward design and everyday utility. Positioned within the accessible segment of the market, this timepiece leverages the brand's reputation for modern aesthetics, offering a bold statement piece that complements a casual wardrobe. It's a choice for those who prioritise style and basic functionality without delving into complex horological mechanisms.
Underneath its striking exterior, the AX1326 is powered by a reliable quartz movement, ensuring accurate timekeeping with minimal maintenance. The watch features a robust 44mm resin case paired with a mineral crystal, providing adequate durability for daily wear. Its 50-metre water resistance rating means it can comfortably handle splashes and brief immersion, making it suitable for recreational swimming.
One potential trade-off for its fashion-centric design and accessible price point is the use of a resin case and mineral crystal, which, while durable, may not offer the same scratch resistance or premium feel as stainless steel and sapphire found in higher-end sports watches. The chronograph function, while present, is primarily for basic timing rather than precision measurement.
Ultimately, the Armani Exchange AX1326 Outerbanks is best suited for the style-conscious consumer who desires a sporty, reliable, and visually impactful watch for casual and active settings. It serves as an excellent entry point into chronograph watches for those who value modern design and brand appeal over intricate mechanical craftsmanship or extreme performance specifications.
