The Fossil ES3203 is designed for daily wear, offering both style and durability. With 100 metres of water resistance, it is perfectly suitable for bathing, swimming, and snorkelling, making it a versatile accessory for various activities. However, it is not recommended for scuba diving.
What kind of activities can I do with this watch?
This Fossil ES3203 watch is well-suited for everyday activities, including office work, social events, and light sports. Its 100m water resistance allows you to comfortably wear it while swimming or snorkelling, but it should be removed for high-impact water sports or diving.
How does this watch compare to other fashion watches in its price range?
The Fossil ES3203 stands out with its elegant gold-tone stainless steel design and crystal accents, offering a premium aesthetic often found in higher price brackets. While many fashion watches prioritise style over durability, this model combines a robust 38mm case, mineral crystal, and 100m water resistance, providing a more functional and long-lasting option.
How often does the battery need to be replaced in this quartz watch?
As a quartz watch, the Fossil ES3203 relies on a battery for power. Typically, a quartz watch battery lasts between two to five years, depending on usage and the specific battery type. It is advisable to have the battery replaced by a professional watchmaker to ensure water resistance is maintained.

Editor's take
The Fossil ES3203 positions itself as an elegant and accessible women's timepiece, ideal for those who value a blend of fashion-forward design and everyday practicality. Introduced in 2012, this model from Fossil's diverse collection exemplifies the brand's dedication to crafting reliable and visually appealing accessories. Its gold-tone stainless steel construction and crystal-accented dial ensure it transitions seamlessly from casual wear to more formal settings, making it a versatile addition to any wardrobe.
Technically, the ES3203 features a well-proportioned 38mm case and an 18mm band width, ensuring a comfortable fit for a wide range of wrist sizes. Powering this watch is a precise quartz movement, known for its accuracy and low maintenance requirements, displayed on a multifunction analogue dial. The dial is protected by a hardened mineral crystal lens, offering robust scratch resistance against daily impacts and preserving the watch's aesthetic integrity over time.
While the watch offers a commendable 100-metre water resistance, suitable for recreational swimming and snorkelling, it is not engineered for serious underwater exploration or scuba diving. Individuals requiring an ISO-certified dive watch with advanced pressure resistance should consider specialised alternatives. The multifunction display adds visual interest while staying useful day to day: its subdials provide day, date and a 24-hour indicator, with the date shown on a subdial rather than a conventional date window.
In conclusion, the Fossil ES3203 is highly recommended for women seeking a stylish, reliable, and water-resistant watch for daily wear and light aquatic activities. Its blend of dazzling aesthetics and practical features makes it a compelling choice within the fashion watch category. For those with a preference for intricate mechanical movements or professional-grade sports functionality, exploring other horological segments would be advisable.
