Description
The Fitbit Sense 2 is a health-focused smartwatch for people who want to track stress, sleep and daily activity from the wrist. It comes in Lunar White with a white silicone strap and a square dial.
The case is aluminium and the display is OLED. It is water resistant to 50 metres, secured with a buckle, and includes an ECG app, a heart rate monitor, SpO2, built-in GPS and Bluetooth calls and messages.
Stress detection with cEDA and a daily Stress Management Score set it apart from basic trackers. Sleep stages, a Sleep Score and a smart wake alarm cover the night, while Alexa, Google Wallet and a battery rated at 6+ days suit everyday wear.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim with the Fitbit Sense 2?
The Sense 2 is water resistant to 50 metres, so pool swimming, showers and rain are generally fine. It is not intended for diving or high-speed water sports. Rinse it with fresh water after chlorine or salt exposure and dry the silicone strap to keep it comfortable.
Is it good enough for daily sport and workouts?
Yes for most users. It has built-in GPS, a workout intensity map and 40+ exercise modes with automatic exercise tracking, so you can run or cycle without carrying a phone. Active Zone Minutes and a Daily Readiness Score help you plan training around recovery.
How is the Sense 2 different from a basic fitness tracker?
Compared with simpler bands, the Sense 2 adds cEDA stress detection, an ECG app, SpO2 and a health metrics dashboard. It also supports Bluetooth calls, Alexa and Google Wallet. If you only need step counting, a cheaper tracker is a reasonable alternative.
How long does the battery last and what about service?
Fitbit rates the battery at 6+ days, depending on usage, and GPS workouts or calls will shorten that. The battery is not designed for user replacement, so any service should go through the manufacturer. Charging nightly is rarely needed.
Will the Sense 2 fit my wrist?
The watch has a compact square case measuring about 1.57 by 1.57 inches and weighs roughly 36 grams. The silicone strap with a buckle suits most average wrists, and the case is light enough for sleep tracking overnight.
Who is the Sense 2 suitable for, and does it work as a gift?
It suits anyone interested in stress, sleep and heart health data, including people new to wearables. Alexa, notifications and customisable clock faces make it easy to use daily, which also makes it a practical gift for health-minded friends or family.
Editor's take
Fitbit's Sense 2 sits at the health-tracking end of the smartwatch market, aimed at people who care more about stress, sleep and recovery data than about a traditional watch. It was listed in September 2022 and pairs a square dial with an OLED display and a white silicone strap in Lunar White.
The standout is the sensor suite. cEDA stress detection, an ECG app and SpO2 sit alongside built-in GPS and 40+ exercise modes, so the watch can cover both daily wellness and workouts without a phone. The aluminium case keeps weight to about 36 grams.
The main trade-off is water resistance. At 50 metres it handles rain, showers and pool swimming, but it is not built for serious diving. Battery life is rated at 6+ days, which is good for a feature-heavy smartwatch, yet it still needs regular charging, unlike a quartz or mechanical watch.
This suits anyone who wants a health-first wearable with Alexa, calls and notifications on the wrist. Buyers who prefer a traditional look or a sapphire crystal would be better served by a hybrid smartwatch or a conventional quartz watch.

40.5mm Aluminium Case
The Sense 2 sits in a 40.5mm aluminium case that stays light on the wrist through a full day and overnight wear. Gorilla Glass 3 covers the display, giving the face a measure of scratch resistance suited to daily use rather than occasional dress wear.
Rated to 50 Metres
With 50m water resistance, the Sense 2 handles pool laps, showers and rain without special handling. It is a rating for swimming and surface water activity, so it suits regular training but not high-speed water sports or deep diving.

Silicone Strap, Everyday Comfort
The silicone strap is soft, light and unaffected by sweat or water, which makes sense for a watch worn through workouts and sleep. It dries quickly after a swim and wipes clean, so the 40.5mm case can stay on the wrist from morning to night.
