Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Guess ATLAS U0668G2 suitable for swimming or showering?
The Guess ATLAS U0668G2 features a 50m water resistance, which means it can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water. However, it is not recommended for swimming, showering, or diving, as prolonged exposure to water pressure or hot water can compromise its seals. For water-based activities, a watch with at least 100m water resistance is generally advised.
What are the main advantages of the quartz movement in this Guess ATLAS watch?
The quartz movement in the Guess ATLAS U0668G2 offers superior accuracy compared to most mechanical watches, ensuring precise timekeeping with minimal deviation. It also requires less maintenance, as there are fewer moving parts, and it's generally more durable against impacts. This makes it a reliable and practical choice for daily wear without the need for frequent adjustments or winding.
How durable is the mineral crystal on the Guess ATLAS U0668G2?
The Guess ATLAS U0668G2 is equipped with a durable mineral crystal, which provides good resistance against scratches and impacts from everyday use. While it's not as scratch-resistant as sapphire crystal, it offers a good balance of durability and cost-effectiveness. It's designed to protect the dial effectively during normal activities, but care should still be taken to avoid harsh abrasions.
What wrist sizes does the 44.5mm case of the Guess ATLAS U0668G2 fit best?
With its 44.5mm stainless steel case, the Guess ATLAS U0668G2 is designed to make a noticeable statement on the wrist. This size typically suits men with medium to larger wrist circumferences, generally ranging from 6.75 to 8 inches (17 to 20 cm). For smaller wrists, it might appear oversized, but personal preference for a larger watch aesthetic also plays a role.
How does the Guess ATLAS U0668G2 compare to other chronographs in its price range?
The Guess ATLAS U0668G2 stands out in its price range by offering a blend of fashionable design, reliable quartz chronograph function, and a robust stainless steel bracelet. While some alternatives might offer higher water resistance or different aesthetic choices, this model provides a strong combination of style, accuracy, and brand recognition. Its elegant grey dial with Roman numerals also gives it a distinct dressy appeal compared to more purely sporty chronographs.
Editor's take
The Guess ATLAS U0668G2 presents itself as a stylish and accessible quartz chronograph designed for the modern man. This timepiece from the ATLAS collection successfully bridges the gap between a classic dress watch and a functional sport-inspired accessory, making it a versatile choice for various occasions. Its robust stainless steel construction ensures durability and a premium feel on the wrist.
Powered by a reliable quartz movement, the ATLAS U0668G2 offers exceptional accuracy and requires minimal maintenance compared to its mechanical counterparts. The substantial 44.5mm case size provides a confident presence, while the mineral crystal protects the elegant grey dial from everyday scratches and impacts. This combination of practical features and a striking design makes it a compelling option for those seeking a dependable daily wearer.
While the 50m water resistance is sufficient for splashes and brief immersion, it is important to note that this watch is not designed for swimming or diving. Its primary function leans towards a fashionable accessory with useful complications rather than a dedicated tool watch. The Roman numerals add a touch of classic elegance, which might not appeal to all users preferring a more minimalist or modern aesthetic.
For individuals prioritising style, accuracy, and a versatile design in an affordable package, the Guess ATLAS U0668G2 is an excellent choice. Those requiring higher water resistance for aquatic activities or a mechanical movement might consider exploring dedicated dive watches or automatic chronographs in a similar price bracket, but for a fashionable quartz chronograph function with a date display, this model delivers.
