Yes, the Hugo LEAP 1530175 is designed for daily wear with its robust stainless steel case and bracelet. While it offers 30m water resistance for splashes and rain, it is not recommended for swimming or high-impact sports where it might be submerged.
What is the difference between this Hugo LEAP model and other chronographs in its price range?
The Hugo LEAP 1530175 stands out with its distinctive modern minimalist design and durable IP-coated black stainless steel finish. Its 45mm case and multi-function quartz movement offer a blend of style and chronograph utility, appealing to those who prioritise fashion-forward aesthetics.
How often does the battery need to be replaced in this quartz watch?
As a quartz watch, the Hugo LEAP 1530175 typically requires a battery replacement every 2 to 3 years, depending on usage. It's advisable to have this done by a professional to ensure the water resistance is maintained.
Can I swim or shower with the Hugo LEAP 1530175 watch?
The Hugo LEAP 1530175 has a water resistance of 30 metres (3 bar), which means it is suitable for minor splashes or rain. However, it is not designed for swimming, showering, or any activities involving prolonged water immersion, as this could compromise its integrity.
What wrist size is suitable for the 45mm case of the Hugo LEAP 1530175?
The 45mm case of the Hugo LEAP 1530175 is generally well-suited for medium to larger wrist sizes, typically ranging from 6.5 to 8 inches in circumference. Its substantial presence makes it a good fit for those who prefer a bolder look on their wrist.
Editor's take
The Hugo LEAP 1530175 positions itself as a contemporary chronograph for the style-conscious individual seeking a blend of modern design and practical functionality. As part of the LEAP collection, it reflects Hugo's signature aesthetic, offering a bold statement piece that can transition seamlessly from daily wear to more polished occasions. Its 45mm case size ensures a noticeable presence on the wrist, appealing to those who prefer larger timepieces.
Technically, this watch is driven by a multi-function quartz movement, providing reliable accuracy and the added utility of a chronograph. The choice of a mineral glass for the crystal, while common in this price segment, offers decent scratch resistance for everyday use. The stainless steel case and bracelet, finished with an IP coating, contribute to its durability and sleek, monochromatic appearance.
One potential consideration for prospective buyers is the 30-metre water resistance. While sufficient for splashes and rain, it is not designed for swimming or diving, which might be a limitation for those with an active aquatic lifestyle. Furthermore, the absence of a specific battery type mentioned means typical quartz battery replacement intervals should be anticipated.
Ultimately, the Hugo LEAP 1530175 is recommended for individuals who prioritise modern design and chronograph functionality in a robust, fashion-forward package. It serves as an excellent entry point into the world of multi-dial watches for those who appreciate Hugo's distinctive style and are looking for a reliable daily companion.

IP coating
Ion Plating (IP) is a vacuum deposition process that bonds a durable, thin film to the stainless steel surface. This process enhances the material's resistance to wear and corrosion, providing a lasting aesthetic finish. The resulting surface is harder and more resistant to scratches than traditional plating methods.
Particularly comfortable silicone
Silicone straps are known for their flexibility and soft texture, conforming readily to the wrist for extended wear comfort. This material is also resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for various environments. Its non-allergenic properties further contribute to its ergonomic profile.
