Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Invicta 14875 suitable for swimming or showering?
The Invicta 14875 has a 50-metre water resistance rating, making it suitable for washing hands, light splashes, and recreational swimming in shallow depths. However, it is not recommended for showering, snorkelling, or diving, as the water pressure and soap can compromise the seals.
What type of movement powers the Invicta 14875 watch?
This Invicta model is powered by a reliable Japanese quartz movement, specifically the VD57 Calibre. This ensures accurate timekeeping and provides the functionality for its three chronograph subdials, offering precise measurement capabilities for daily activities.
How does the Invicta 14875 compare to other chronographs in its price range?
The Invicta 14875 stands out with its bold 45mm stainless steel case, unidirectional black and silver stainless steel bezel, and functional chronograph subdials. While many watches in this range might offer similar quartz movements, the Invicta often provides a more substantial wrist presence and distinctive design.
What is the expected battery life for the SR920SW battery in this watch?
The SR920SW battery typically offers a lifespan of two to three years, depending on usage, especially how often the chronograph functions are engaged. It is advisable to have the battery replaced by a professional watchmaker to ensure the water resistance seals are properly maintained.
Is the stainless steel bracelet adjustable for different wrist sizes?
Yes, the stainless steel bracelet of the Invicta 14875 is designed to be adjustable. Links can be added or removed to achieve a comfortable and secure fit for various wrist sizes. Professional adjustment is recommended to prevent damage to the bracelet or clasp.
Who is the Invicta 14875 watch most suitable for?
The Invicta 14875 is most suitable for men who appreciate a large, sporty, and functional timepiece for daily wear. Its 45mm case size and chronograph features make it ideal for those seeking a bold accessory that combines practical timing capabilities with a distinctive aesthetic.
Editor's take
The Invicta Specialty 14875 positions itself as an accessible and robust quartz chronograph for the modern man. Drawing from Invicta's reputation for bold designs and substantial wrist presence, this model offers a blend of sporty aesthetics and practical functionality. It's a timepiece designed for daily wear, appealing to those who appreciate a watch that can withstand the rigours of an active lifestyle while maintaining a distinctive look.
Underneath its striking exterior, the 14875 is powered by a reliable Japanese quartz movement, specifically the VD57 Calibre, ensuring precise timekeeping and responsive chronograph functions, a crucial aspect for any timing instrument. The watch features a 45mm stainless steel case and a mineral crystal, offering a good balance of durability and cost-effectiveness. Its unidirectional black and silver stainless steel bezel adds a functional touch, often found in more expensive dive-inspired pieces.
While the 50-metre water resistance is suitable for splashes and recreational swimming, it's important to note that this rating does not qualify the watch for serious diving or prolonged submersion. Enthusiasts seeking a true dive watch with ISO certification might find this limitation a point of consideration. The large case size, while part of its appeal, might also be a factor for those with smaller wrists.
Ultimately, the Invicta Specialty 14875 is a solid choice for individuals seeking a visually impactful and functional quartz chronograph for everyday use. Its combination of a stainless steel bracelet, robust construction, and precise movement makes it a compelling option in its segment. For those prioritising a more traditional mechanical movement or higher water resistance for professional use, exploring dedicated dive or field watches might be a suitable alternative.
