Maserati Traguardo R8871612046, 45mm, Grey Dial, Blue Plastic Strap

The Miyota JS25 calibre provides the foundation for this chronograph, offering reliable timekeeping and stopwatch functionality. The layout is classic, with sub-dials for elapsed minutes, seconds, and a 24-hour indicator, all set against a textured grey dial. Legibility is maintained through contrasting hands and applied indices that catch the light.

The 45mm stainless steel case makes a statement on the wrist, its size balanced by a relatively light weight of 90 grams. The fixed bezel features tachymeter markings, reinforcing the watch's connection to motorsport timing. A water resistance rating across 100 metres ensures it can handle daily wear and surface swimming without issue.

A distinct blue plastic strap secures the watch, its colour providing a strong visual counterpoint to the grey dial and steel case. This material choice prioritises comfort and a casual aesthetic. The overall construction delivers a cohesive design language that draws directly from the Maserati brand's sporting heritage.

The Maserati R8871612046 is for the wearer who appreciates automotive design and wants a large, visually present chronograph. It uses the well-regarded Miyota JS25 quartz calibre for its core functionality, ensuring grab-and-go accuracy. This watch is less about horological complexity and more about expressing a specific brand-aligned style.

The watch's primary appeal is its cohesive aesthetic. The 45mm stainless steel case provides a substantial frame for the detailed grey dial, while the blue strap creates a striking colour combination. The dial is protected by a pane of scratch resistant mineral glass, a practical choice for a watch in this category.

A key consideration is the material selection. The use of a plastic strap, while comfortable and colourful, may not offer the same longevity or perceived quality as rubber or leather. Similarly, the mineral crystal, while treated for resistance, does not possess the hardness of a sapphire crystal found on more expensive timepieces.

For those seeking a bold, car-culture-themed accessory, the Traguardo delivers. It's a functional quartz chronograph with a strong visual identity tied to the Maserati name. It succeeds as a stylish and accessible statement piece for casual wear.
