Description
Nine West offers this boyfriend-style women's watch for anyone who prefers a larger case on the wrist. The 42mm round case pairs a matt white dial with gold-tone hands and markers, giving a clean and easy to read face.
Inside sits a Japanese quartz movement with analogue display. The case and bracelet are metal, and the lens is mineral crystal. The bracelet is a matt white metal design with a rubber coating and a 20mm band width, with an inner circumference of 6.75 inches.
The fold-over clasp with double push-button safety keeps the bracelet secure during daily wear. The watch is not water resistant, so it suits dry, everyday use such as office days and casual outings rather than swimming or showering.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I wear this Nine West watch in the shower or pool?
No, this Nine West watch is not water resistant, so it should stay away from showers, pools and even handwashing. Moisture can get past the case and damage the quartz movement. It is meant for dry, everyday wear, and for anything involving water a rated model is the better choice.
Is it suitable for daily sport or just casual wear?
It is designed with a fashion focus, so it suits the office, errands and relaxed days well. For daily sport it is less ideal, because there is no water resistance and sweat or splashes are a risk. The mineral glass and rubber-coated bracelet cope with normal everyday knocks.
Will a 42mm case look too big on my wrist?
The 42mm case is deliberately boyfriend sized, so it sits larger on the wrist than a classic women's watch. The 20mm bracelet with an inner circumference of 6.75 inches fits best on smaller to average wrists. If you prefer a delicate look, a smaller case would be a better alternative.
How does it compare with a sapphire-glass watch?
This Nine West uses mineral crystal, which is tougher than plain glass but scratches more easily than sapphire. Sapphire models usually cost more and resist marks better. For office and casual use, the mineral lens is usually adequate, and you save compared with a sapphire alternative.
What kind of battery and service does it need?
It uses a Japanese quartz movement with a battery, so there is no winding. The battery generally lasts a couple of years and is replaced at a watch shop. Since the watch is not water resistant, service mainly means a battery change and a quick check that the case is closed properly.
Who is this watch suitable for as a gift?
This Nine West is suitable for someone who likes an oversized, clean white-dial look with gold-tone details. The fold-over clasp with push-button safety is easy to use, and the metal bracelet suits most outfits. Avoid it for anyone who swims or works with water daily.
Editor's take
Boyfriend-sized watches have become a staple of women's catalogues, and this Nine West sits squarely in that camp with a 42mm round case and a matt white dial. The gold-tone hands and markers keep the face clean and legible, which is the whole point of the design.
Power comes from a Japanese quartz movement, which means no winding and steady timekeeping with little fuss. The lens is mineral crystal, and the case and bracelet are metal, with a rubber coating on the white bracelet that gives it a softer finish than bare steel.
The main trade-off is water: the watch is not water resistant, so rain, handwashing and showers are best avoided. Mineral glass is also more prone to scratching than sapphire, which is a fair compromise at this price. The fold-over clasp with double push-button safety is secure, but the 6.75 inch inner circumference suits smaller wrists best.
This suits someone who wants an oversized, easy-to-read white-dial piece for the office or casual days and does not need any water protection. If swimming or sport matters, look at a quartz model with a stated water resistance rating instead.

From the manufacturer
A Dress Watch in 42mm
The NW/1678WTWT carries a 42.0mm metal case, a size that sits comfortably between classic dress proportions and modern wrist presence. The white dial theme keeps the face clean and legible, which suits a watch meant to sit beneath a shirt cuff or alongside tailoring.
Japanese Quartz Movement
A Japanese quartz movement drives the time, chosen for steady accuracy and minimal upkeep compared with a mechanical calibre. It needs no winding and no regular adjustment, so the watch is ready whenever you reach for it. Battery replacement is the only routine service.
Metal Strap, Mineral Crystal
The metal strap matches the case finish, giving the watch a unified look from lug to clasp. Mineral crystal covers the dial, offering good resistance to everyday scuffs and clear sight lines. Water resistance is not rated on this reference, so keep it away from submersion and wet activity.
