Editor's take
The Sekonda Outback Classic 3390.27 positions itself as an accessible and practical timepiece, catering to individuals seeking a reliable watch for daily activities without a significant investment. Its design ethos, rooted in British aesthetics, aims for a clean and uncomplicated look that transcends fleeting trends, making it a versatile accessory for casual wear.
At its core, this model relies on a dependable Japanese quartz movement, known for its accuracy and low maintenance requirements, powered by a 377 (SR626SW) silver oxide cell with a two-year life. The watch features a robust 35mm plastic case and a protective mineral glass crystal, offering a good balance of durability for everyday knocks and bumps. Its 50m water resistance rating ensures it can withstand splashes and handwashing, adding to its utility.
While the Outback Classic offers solid functionality for its price point, its plastic case and mineral glass might not appeal to enthusiasts seeking premium materials like stainless steel or sapphire. The 50m water resistance, while adequate for daily life, means it is not suitable for swimming or prolonged water immersion, which might be a limitation for more active users.
Ultimately, the Sekonda Outback Classic 3390.27 is an excellent choice for those who prioritise straightforward functionality, a comfortable silicone strap, and a casual aesthetic. It serves well as a first watch for younger individuals or a no-fuss daily beater for anyone needing a reliable, easy-to-read timepiece.
