Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 suitable for daily wear and sports?
The Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 is well-suited for daily wear, offering a blend of elegance and reliability. Its 50m water resistance means it can handle splashes and brief immersion, but it is not recommended for swimming or high-impact sports.
What is the main difference between this quartz watch and an automatic one?
The Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 uses a Miyota 2315 Japanese quartz movement, which offers high accuracy and requires a battery change every few years. Automatic watches are powered by wrist movement and don't need batteries but may require more frequent servicing.
Can I swim or shower with the Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3?
With 50m water resistance, the Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 is resistant to splashes and brief immersion. However, it is not designed for swimming, showering, or diving, as prolonged exposure to water pressure or steam can compromise its seals.
What kind of maintenance does the Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 require?
As a quartz watch, the Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 requires minimal maintenance, primarily a battery replacement every few years. It's advisable to have the water resistance seals checked during battery changes to ensure continued protection.
Is the 42mm case size suitable for all wrist sizes?
The 42mm case of the Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 is a versatile size that generally fits most men's wrists comfortably. For smaller wrists, it might have a more prominent presence, while for larger wrists, it offers a balanced look.
Editor's take
The Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 positions itself as an accessible and stylish quartz timepiece, catering to the modern man who values a clean aesthetic and reliable performance. This model from Stuhrling Original's Lineage collection offers a blend of classic dress watch sensibilities with a touch of sporty versatility, making it a strong contender for an everyday wear watch.
Technically, the watch is driven by the dependable Miyota 2315 Japanese quartz movement, renowned for its accuracy and low maintenance. Its 42mm stainless steel case, paired with a robust Krysterna crystal, provides a solid build for daily use. The slim 9.4mm profile ensures it slides easily under a cuff, while the fixed coin edge bezel adds a subtle design flourish.
One area where the Lineage 3935.3 shows its limitations is its 50m water resistance. While sufficient for splashes and brief immersion, it is not designed for serious swimming or diving, which might be a consideration for those with a very active lifestyle. The lack of a date complication also simplifies the dial but might be missed by some users.
For individuals seeking a stylish, low-maintenance watch for office wear or casual outings, the Stuhrling Lineage 3935.3 is an excellent choice. Its blend of classic design and quartz reliability makes it a practical option. Those requiring higher water resistance or additional complications might explore other sportier quartz alternatives in a similar price bracket.
