How does the Stuhrling Meridian 3968.2 compare to other GMT watches in its price range?
The Stuhrling Meridian 3968.2 stands out with its Swiss quartz GMT movement and robust stainless steel build. While many GMT watches at this price point might offer a simpler movement, this model provides reliable dual time functionality and a classic dive watch aesthetic.
What type of movement powers the Stuhrling Meridian 3968.2 and what are its benefits?
This Stuhrling Meridian watch is powered by a Swiss quartz movement. This type of movement offers exceptional accuracy, requires minimal maintenance compared to mechanical watches, and is generally more shock-resistant, making it ideal for daily wear.
Can I change the strap on my Stuhrling Meridian 3968.2 watch?

Editor's take
The Stuhrling Original Meridian 3968.2 positions itself as an accessible yet feature-rich option for men seeking a versatile timepiece. Part of the Aquadiver collection, it combines the robust aesthetics of a dive watch with the practical utility of a GMT function, making it suitable for both daily wear and international travel. Its classic design ensures it remains a timeless accessory, appealing to those who appreciate traditional watchmaking with modern conveniences.
At its core, the Meridian 3968.2 is powered by a reliable Swiss quartz movement, ensuring precise timekeeping and minimal maintenance. The integrated GMT dual time function is a standout feature, allowing wearers to track a second time zone effortlessly, a boon for frequent travellers or those with global connections. Encased in a 42mm stainless steel body and protected by a durable mineral glass, this watch is built to withstand the rigours of daily life, complemented by its 100-metre water resistance.
While the mineral glass offers good scratch resistance for its price point, it is inherently less resilient than sapphire crystal, which might be a consideration for users in highly demanding environments. Additionally, although it boasts a diver-inspired design and 100m water resistance, it lacks the ISO 6425 certification typically found in professional dive watches, meaning it's more suited for recreational swimming than serious underwater exploration.
This Stuhrling Meridian is ideal for the budget-conscious enthusiast who values functionality and classic style. It serves as an excellent entry point into watches with GMT complications without the premium price tag of mechanical alternatives. For those prioritising extreme durability or professional diving capabilities, exploring dedicated tool watches with sapphire crystal and higher water resistance ratings might be a more appropriate alternative.
