Yes, the Timex Time Machines TW7C773009J is designed for daily wear by active children. Its durable resin case, acrylic lens, and nylon strap are built to withstand typical play and everyday use, making it a robust companion for young learners.
Can my child swim or bathe with this Timex watch?
The Timex Time Machines TW7C773009J has a water resistance of 30 metres, which means it can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. However, it is not suitable for swimming, bathing, or any prolonged water activities, so it should be removed before such activities.
How does this Timex model compare to other kids' watches in its price range?
The Timex Time Machines TW7C773009J stands out with its clear, educational dial designed for learning time, featuring marked minutes and a fun rotating second hand. While many kids' watches offer durability, this model specifically integrates learning tools, making it a strong choice for educational value alongside its robust build.
What type of battery does the Timex Time Machines TW7C773009J use, and how often does it need replacement?
This Timex watch is battery-powered, utilising a standard quartz movement battery. The exact battery type is not specified, but typically these last for several years. Battery replacement should be done by a professional to maintain water resistance.

Editor's take
The Timex Time Machines TW7C773009J is thoughtfully designed as an entry-level timepiece for young horology enthusiasts, blending educational features with robust construction. It aims to make learning to tell time an engaging experience for children, positioning itself as a reliable daily companion for their early years.
Central to its appeal is the easy-to-read blue dial with clearly marked minutes, complemented by a unique rotating graphic second hand that adds a playful touch. The watch is housed in a lightweight yet durable 28mm resin case and protected by an acrylic lens, making it suitable for active children. The quartz movement ensures accurate timekeeping with minimal fuss, a practical choice for a child's first watch.
However, potential buyers should note its 30-metre water resistance is limited to splashes and brief immersion, meaning it is not suitable for swimming or bathing. The acrylic crystal, while shatter-resistant, is more prone to scratches compared to sapphire, which might be a consideration for very active kids. Its nylon strap is adjustable but might not suit all wrist sizes, particularly for older children.
This Timex model is highly recommended for parents seeking a durable, educational, and fun watch for younger children who are just beginning to learn time-telling. For older children or those requiring greater water resistance for water sports, exploring models with higher WR ratings or more scratch-resistant mineral glass might be a more appropriate alternative.
