Tsar Bomba TB-8208, 44mm, Silver Dial, Blue Silicone Strap

The TSAR BOMBA TB-8208 is a men's automatic watch built around a square-faced tonneau case and a skeletonised silver dial. It suits wearers who like to see the movement at work and want a bold, large-format piece for dressier outfits.

The case is 316L stainless steel measuring 44mm across and 15.5mm thick, topped with a sapphire crystal that carries an anti-reflective coating. The automatic movement stores over 48 hours of energy, and the watch is rated to 50 metres, enough for rain, hand washing and casual swimming.

An exhibition caseback gives a second view of the mechanism. The 21mm blue silicone strap closes with a tang buckle and resists sweat and moisture, while the luminous hands and markers keep the time readable in the dark, which makes this a practical daily wear.

Tsar Bomba is a lesser-known brand aimed at buyers who want the look of a skeleton automatic without a luxury price. The TB-8208 leans into that idea with a large tonneau case, a silver skeletonised dial and an exhibition caseback, so the movement is visible from both sides.

The case is 316L stainless steel, topped with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a welcome upgrade over the mineral glass common at this level. The automatic movement stores more than 48 hours of energy, which means it should keep running through a weekend off the wrist.

There are trade-offs. At 44mm across and 15.5mm thick the watch wears big, and small wrists will find it overbearing. Water resistance of 50 metres covers rain and splashes but not serious swimming, despite the sport tags in the listing, and the open dial can be busy to read quickly.

It suits buyers who value mechanical visibility and a bold wrist presence over discretion. For a similar budget, a conventional automatic with a closed dial and a smaller case may be easier to live with, while the silicone strap here is comfortable but can be swapped for leather to dress it up.
