Description
The Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro is a rugged smartwatch built for hikers, trail runners, cyclists and divers who want a tough tracker on the wrist. It pairs an AMOLED display with a titanium alloy bezel and buttons, and it comes with a black silicone strap.
Protection comes from sapphire glass and a water resistance rating of 100 meters, and the watch is certified for diving to 45m. Navigation relies on dual-band GPS supporting six satellite systems, along with offline maps, route planning and automatic rerouting. The 22mm lug width allows straps to be swapped.
A built-in two-color flashlight with an SOS signal is a practical feature for night outings. Battery life reaches up to 25 days, and more than 180 sport modes cover everything from swimming to basketball, so it works as a daily tracker as well as an expedition tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim and shower with the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro?
Yes for both, since the T-Rex 3 Pro is rated to 100 m water resistance and certified for diving to 45m. Pool swimming, open-water swimming and daily showers are fine. Hot steam in a sauna is best avoided, as heat can age the seals over time.
Will it fit a smaller wrist?
The T-Rex 3 Pro comes in 48mm or 44mm versions, so the smaller one suits slimmer wrists better. It has a 22mm lug width and a silicone strap, which is adjustable and generally comfortable on a wide range of wrists. Trying both sizes helps if you are between them.
How long does the battery really last on this watch?
Amazfit quotes up to 25 days, but that is under light use. With constant GPS tracking, the always-on display or heavy flashlight use, expect noticeably less, often closer to a week or two. Casual daily wear gives the best runtime.
How does the T-Rex 3 Pro compare with a regular fitness tracker?
Versus a basic tracker, the T-Rex 3 Pro adds sapphire glass, a titanium alloy bezel, offline maps, dual-band GPS and 180+ sport modes. It is bulkier but much tougher. If you only count steps, a lighter band is a cheaper alternative.
Do I need a phone to use it for sport and calls?
Sport tracking and GPS work on the watch itself, while Bluetooth calls, notifications and Zepp Flow replies need a paired phone. Hands-free message replies via Zepp Flow require an Android phone. Offline maps keep navigation working without signal.
Can I swap the strap on the T-Rex 3 Pro?
Yes, the lug width is 22mm, so compatible 22mm straps can be fitted. The stock strap is black silicone with a buckle. Using a quick-release style strap makes swaps easier, and service for the watch is handled through Amazfit support.
Editor's take
Amazfit's T-Rex line has long been the brand's answer to rugged outdoor wearables, and the T-Rex 3 Pro continues that path with a titanium alloy bezel and a sapphire glass front. It is aimed at hikers, trail runners and divers rather than office wear, and the octagonal case reflects that tool-first intent.
The strongest point is the dual-band GPS drawing on six satellite systems, which matters under tree cover or between tall buildings where single-band chips drift. Paired with offline maps and route planning, it works as a genuine navigation aid. The 3000-nit AMOLED panel stays readable in harsh sun, and a 22mm lug width keeps strap options open.
The trade-off is the platform itself. A smartwatch depends on software updates and a rechargeable battery, so it will not age like a mechanical piece, and the 25-day battery claim shortens noticeably with GPS and the flashlight in constant use. The 100 m water resistance with a 45m dive certification suits swimming and recreational diving, but it is not a substitute for a dedicated dive computer on deeper or technical dives.
It suits outdoor enthusiasts who want maps, a flashlight and weeks of battery on one wrist without paying for a premium sports brand. For a more traditional tool watch, a quartz field watch or a dive watch with a rotating bezel is the sensible alternative.

Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro 48mm
48mm Case With Presence
The T-Rex 3 uses a 48.0mm case sized for large wrists and outdoor use. It sits tall and substantial, in the tradition of field and expedition tool watches, and the proportions suit gloves and heavy sleeves.
Sapphire Crystal Face
The sapphire crystal ranks 9 on the Mohs scale, well above mineral glass. It resists the scratches that rock faces, pack buckles and workshop benches leave behind, so the display stays legible season after season of rough handling.
Rated To 100 Meters
Water resistance is 100m, which covers swimming, snorkeling and surface water sports as well as rain and heavy sweat. As with any dive-adjacent rating, rinse the case after salt water and avoid high-velocity impact on the surface.
Silicone Strap For Daily Wear
The silicone strap sheds water, sweat and mud and dries quickly after a swim or a wet trail. It is soft enough for all-day wear and firm enough to hold a large 48mm case steady on the wrist during climbs and runs.
Built For Field Duty
The T-Rex 3 (A2444) is a smartwatch built around the demands of a tool watch: a large case, a hard crystal, a sealed body and a washable strap. It suits hikers, trainers and anyone who wants a watch that tolerates rough use without fuss.
