Frequently Asked Questions
How deep can I go with the Invicta Pro Diver 23681?
The Invicta Pro Diver 23681 offers 200 meters (660 feet) of water resistance. This makes it suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports, and recreational scuba diving, but not for saturation diving.
What type of movement powers this Invicta Pro Diver watch?
This Invicta Pro Diver 23681 is powered by a reliable NH35A Japanese Automatic movement. This self-winding calibre features 24 jewels and is known for its robust performance and a power reserve that typically lasts around 40 hours when fully wound.
Is the mineral crystal on this watch durable for daily wear?
The Invicta Pro Diver 23681 features a mineral crystal, which offers good shatter resistance for daily activities. While it's more prone to scratches than sapphire, it provides a clear view of the black dial and is a common choice for watches in this category.
What is the lug width of the Invicta Pro Diver 23681, and can I change the band?
The lug width of the Invicta Pro Diver 23681 is 19.0 mm, which is a common size. This allows for easy replacement of the black silicone band with other compatible 19mm straps, offering versatility to customize its look for different occasions.
How does the Invicta Pro Diver 23681 compare to other dive watches in its price range?
The Invicta Pro Diver 23681 stands out with its combination of a reliable NH35A automatic movement, 200m water resistance, and classic dive watch aesthetics at an accessible price point. While some alternatives might offer sapphire crystal, this model provides excellent value for its features, especially for those prioritizing an automatic movement.
Is the Invicta Pro Diver 23681 suitable for smaller wrists?
With a 40mm case diameter and a 13mm thickness, the Invicta Pro Diver 23681 is designed to fit a wide range of wrist sizes, including smaller ones. The silicone band also conforms comfortably to the wrist, making it a versatile option for daily wear.
Editor's take
The Invicta Pro Diver 23681 positions itself as an accessible entry into the world of automatic dive watches, catering to enthusiasts who appreciate the classic aesthetic without a prohibitive price tag. Its design cues are clearly inspired by iconic diver models, making it a familiar and appealing choice for many.
Underneath its gold-tone exterior, this timepiece is powered by the reliable NH35A Japanese Automatic movement, a workhorse calibre known for its robustness and ease of service. This 24-jewel movement ensures a smooth sweep of the seconds hand and includes a date complication, all protected by a durable mineral crystal and a screw-down crown.
While the 200-meter water resistance is commendable for most recreational diving and water sports, the use of mineral crystal rather than sapphire is a common trade-off at this price point. It offers good shatter resistance but is more prone to scratches than its sapphire counterpart. The gold-tone finish, while striking, may also show wear more prominently over time compared to brushed stainless steel.
Ultimately, the Pro Diver 23681 is an excellent choice for those seeking a stylish, functional, and affordable automatic dive watch. It's particularly well-suited for individuals who value the classic diver look and the convenience of an automatic movement for daily wear, perhaps as a robust alternative to more expensive options.
