Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim or shower with the Orient RN-AG0728S watch?
The Orient RN-AG0728S features 100m water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and snorkeling. However, it is generally not recommended for showering, as hot water and soap can compromise the seals over time. Always ensure the crown is pushed in before any water exposure.
What is the accuracy of the automatic movement in this Orient watch?
This Orient RN-AG0728S is powered by an automatic mechanical movement with a stated accuracy of +25 to -15 seconds per day. This is a standard range for many mechanical watches in this category, offering reliable timekeeping for daily use.
How does the Orient RN-AG0728S compare to other ladies' automatic watches in its price range?
The Orient RN-AG0728S stands out with its distinctive open heart dial and reliable Made in Japan automatic movement, offering a blend of elegance and horological charm. While other brands might offer similar water resistance or case materials, this model provides a unique aesthetic at a competitive price point, appealing to those who value visible mechanics.
What wrist sizes is the Orient RN-AG0728S suitable for?
With a 35.9mm case diameter, the Orient RN-AG0728S is designed to fit a wide range of women's wrist sizes comfortably. It generally suits wrists from approximately 5.5 to 7.5 inches (14 to 19 cm) in circumference, offering a classic and proportionate look.
What does the 'open heart' feature on the dial signify?
The open heart dial on the Orient RN-AG0728S is a design element that provides a captivating view of the watch's internal automatic mechanical movement. It allows the wearer to observe the intricate balance wheel and escapement, highlighting the craftsmanship and mechanical artistry of the timepiece without fully skeletonizing the dial.
Editor's take
The Orient RN-AG0728S positions itself as an elegant and accessible choice for women seeking a blend of traditional watchmaking and modern design. As part of Orient's commitment to in-house movements, this model showcases a charming open heart dial that reveals the rhythmic beat of its automatic mechanical movement. It's a piece that speaks to those who appreciate the artistry behind a timepiece, offering a visual connection to its horological soul.
Technically, the watch is well-equipped for daily wear, featuring a robust stainless steel case measuring 35.9mm, an ideal size for many female wrists. Its 100m water resistance ensures durability against splashes and brief immersion, making it practical for various occasions. The crystal glass protects the pristine white dial, while the 40-hour power reserve provides reliable timekeeping for over a day and a half, a solid performance for an entry-level automatic.
One objective consideration for potential buyers is the use of crystal glass rather than sapphire. While crystal offers good clarity and reasonable scratch resistance, it is generally less resilient to deep scratches than sapphire, which is often found in higher-end models. This is a common trade-off at this price point, balancing cost with material durability.
Ultimately, the Orient RN-AG0728S is an excellent recommendation for women who desire a classic, reliable automatic watch with a distinctive open heart display. It's perfect for those looking to add a touch of mechanical charm to their everyday attire without a significant investment. For those prioritising ultimate scratch resistance, exploring models with sapphire glass might be a worthwhile alternative.
