Description
The Rado Centrix is an automatic women's watch built around a compact round case and a bright silver dial. It suits anyone who wants a small, refined bracelet watch that winds itself from wrist movement.
The case measures 30.5 mm across and 10.3 mm thick, and it is made from stainless steel with PVD treatment. A sapphire crystal protects the silver dial, and the automatic movement removes the need for a battery. Water resistance is rated at 50 m, enough for splashes and rain.
The bracelet uses a plasma high-tech ceramic and stainless steel PVD construction with a foldover clasp. The silver color of the bracelet matches the dial, so the watch reads as one unified piece. It works well as a daily dress watch for office wear and evenings out.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim or shower with the Rado Centrix?
The Rado Centrix is rated to 50 m, which covers hand washing, rain and light splashes. It is generally not recommended for swimming or regular showers, since hot water and steam can affect the seals over time. Keep it for daily wear and dry sport such as walking.
Will it fit a small wrist?
The Rado Centrix has a 30.5 mm round case and is 10.3 mm thick, which suits small to average wrists well. The compact size sits neatly under a cuff, and the foldover clasp keeps the bracelet secure once fitted. A jeweler can usually remove links if needed.
Does it need a battery or winding?
It uses an automatic movement, so it winds itself from the motion of your wrist and needs no battery. If it stops after sitting unworn for a few days, a few gentle shakes or a short wind at the crown generally restarts it. Regular wear keeps it running.
How does it compare with a quartz watch of similar size?
A quartz watch is usually more accurate and needs less servicing, while the Centrix offers a mechanical automatic movement and a sapphire crystal. If you value craftsmanship and no battery changes, the Centrix is the better fit; for lowest upkeep, a quartz alternative suits better.
How often should the Centrix be serviced?
An automatic watch like the Centrix generally benefits from a service every five years or so, when the movement is cleaned and lubricated. Having the seals checked at the same time helps maintain the 50 m water resistance, especially if you wear it daily.
Is it suitable as a daily dress watch?
Yes, the Rado Centrix suits daily office and evening wear thanks to its silver dial, matching bracelet and compact case. The sapphire crystal resists everyday scratches, so it copes with desk work and routine handling without looking worn quickly.
Editor's take
Rado's Centrix line is aimed at women who want a small, jewelry-like bracelet watch that still carries a mechanical heart. At 30.5 mm across and 10.3 mm thick, it sits closer to classic ladies' proportions than to the oversized trend, and the silver dial with a matching bracelet keeps the look cohesive.
The most useful feature is the automatic movement, which winds from wrist motion and removes the battery changes of a quartz piece. Protection comes from a sapphire crystal over the dial, which resists scratches far better than mineral glass, and the case is stainless steel with PVD treatment for a colored, durable finish.
The main trade-off is water resistance: 50 m covers hand washing, rain and splashes, but this is not a watch for swimming or showering regularly. The small diameter also means the dial is compact, so anyone who prefers a larger presence on the wrist should look elsewhere. The foldover clasp is secure, though it does not offer the fine micro-adjustment found on some divers' bracelets.
It suits someone who wants an elegant daily watch for the office or dinner and values a self-winding movement. For a similar budget, a quartz alternative would be more accurate and need less service, but would lack the mechanical appeal.
