Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Invicta Speedway 39727 suitable for daily wear and sports?
Yes, the Invicta Speedway 39727 is designed for daily use and various sports activities. Its robust 51mm stainless steel case, durable silicone band, and 100m water resistance make it a reliable companion for an active lifestyle. The quartz movement ensures consistent performance.
What kind of water activities can I do with this 100m water resistant watch?
The Invicta Speedway 39727, with its 100m water resistance, is suitable for swimming, snorkelling, and showering. However, it is not recommended for high-impact water sports like diving or jet skiing, which can exceed its pressure rating. Always ensure the crown is pushed in before water exposure.
How does the Flame Fusion crystal compare to sapphire or mineral glass?
Invicta's Flame Fusion crystal, found on the Speedway 39727, is a proprietary blend designed to offer enhanced scratch resistance compared to standard mineral glass, while also providing better shatter resistance than sapphire. It strikes a balance between durability and clarity for daily use.
Is the 51mm case size of the Invicta Speedway 39727 suitable for all wrist sizes?
The 51mm case of the Invicta Speedway 39727 is quite large and makes a bold statement. It is generally best suited for men with medium to large wrist sizes, typically 7 inches (18 cm) and above, to ensure a comfortable and proportionate fit. For smaller wrists, it might feel oversized.
What are the benefits of a quartz chronograph movement in this Invicta watch?
The quartz chronograph movement in the Invicta Speedway 39727 offers several advantages, including high accuracy and minimal maintenance compared to mechanical movements. The chronograph function allows for precise timing of events, making it practical for sports and other activities where timing is essential.
Editor's take
The Invicta Speedway 39727 positions itself as a bold and accessible sports chronograph for men who prefer a substantial wrist presence. This model, part of the popular Speedway collection, combines a robust design with practical features, making it suitable for daily wear and various casual activities. It caters to an audience that values a large, eye-catching timepiece.
At its core, the Speedway 39727 is powered by a reliable quartz movement, ensuring accurate timekeeping with minimal maintenance. The watch features a 51mm stainless steel case that houses a black dial with a chronograph function, protected by Invicta's proprietary Flame Fusion crystal. This crystal offers a good balance of scratch resistance and shatter resistance, while the 100-metre water resistance rating provides ample protection for swimming and snorkelling.
One potential consideration for some users might be the watch's considerable 51mm case size, which could feel overly large on smaller wrists. While its bold aesthetic is a key selling point, those seeking a more understated or traditional fit might find it overwhelming. Additionally, the silicone band, though comfortable, may not offer the same premium feel as a metal bracelet or high-quality leather strap.
Ultimately, the Invicta Speedway 39727 is an excellent choice for individuals who appreciate oversized, feature-rich watches with a sporty appeal. It's particularly well-suited for those looking for a durable, low-maintenance chronograph for everyday adventures. For a more classic or formal look, alternatives in the 40-44mm range with a leather strap might be more appropriate.
