Description
This Nine West dress watch is aimed at women who want a polished, dressy piece with a bit of colour on the wrist. A green dial sits against gold-tone hands and crystal accented markers, and the look carries through to the gold-tone link bracelet.
The 36mm round metal case is 10.5mm thick and houses a quartz movement with a second hand. A domed mineral crystal lens protects the dial, and the bracelet is adjustable with lugs measuring 14mm. The watch weighs about 200 grams including the bracelet.
The fold over clasp uses a double push-button safety, so the watch stays secure through the day. It is not water resistant, so it suits office, evening and occasion wear where it stays clear of water.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I wear this watch in the shower or pool?
The Nine West NW/2098GNGB is not water resistant, so it should stay out of showers, pools and even handwashing. Even small splashes can get past the case over time. Keep it for dry settings such as the office or an evening out, and choose a rated sport watch for any water activity.
Is it suitable for daily wear at work?
Yes for most office days. This Nine West dress watch has a 36mm case that is 10.5mm thick, so it slides under a shirt cuff easily. The mineral crystal lens can pick up scratches over time, so take a little care around desks and door frames.
Will a 36mm watch fit my wrist?
A 36mm round case is a mid-size, slim look that suits small to medium wrists well. The link bracelet is adjustable, so a jeweller can remove links for a closer fit. The 14mm lug width is useful to know if you ever want to change the strap.
How does it differ from a leather strap dress watch?
This Nine West watch uses a gold-tone metal link bracelet with a fold over clasp and push-button safety, which looks dressier and handles daily wear without cracking. Compared with leather, metal is heavier at about 200 grams, but it is easier to wipe clean.
What kind of battery service does it need?
It runs on a quartz movement, so there is no winding. The battery generally lasts a couple of years, and you will need to replace it when the second hand stops or starts to jump. A watch shop should do the service, and since the watch is not water resistant, keep it dry afterwards.
Who is this watch suitable for as a gift?
It suits someone who likes a dressy, colourful accessory for work or occasions. The green dial, gold-tone bracelet and crystal accented markers give it a polished look, and it comes in a size that fits most wrists.
Editor's take
Nine West builds this model for women who want a dressy watch that adds a little colour to an outfit. The green dial with gold-tone hands and crystal accented markers is the main draw, and it is paired with a matching gold-tone link bracelet in a 36mm round metal case.
Inside is a quartz movement with a second hand, which keeps the watch light on upkeep and accurate without winding. The dial is covered by a domed mineral crystal lens, and the bracelet closes with a fold over clasp that has a double push-button safety. At 14mm lug width and 10.5mm thick, the case sits slim enough for a dress piece.
The key limit is the water rating: the watch is not water resistant, so splashes, handwashing and showers are best avoided. Mineral glass is also less scratch-resistant than sapphire, which matters on a bracelet watch that sits against desks and cuffs every day.
This suits someone who wants a fashion-led watch for work, dinners and occasions at a modest price. If you need something for the pool or heavier daily wear, look at a sport-oriented quartz model with a stated water resistance rating instead.

From the manufacturer
A Compact 36mm Dress Case
The 36.0mm metal case sits in the classic proportion for a dress watch, slim enough to pass beneath a shirt cuff without catching. Crystal accents on the case add controlled sparkle while the overall silhouette stays restrained and balanced on the wrist.
Quartz Accuracy, Minimal Upkeep
The NW/2098GNGB runs on a quartz movement, which keeps time steadily without winding or regular regulation. For a dressier piece worn on and off through the week, that means it is ready when you pick it up and needs little attention beyond an occasional battery change.
Full Metal Bracelet Construction
A metal strap continues the case finish across the whole watch, giving a cohesive look from lugs to clasp. Metal links also tend to hold their shape and wear well over time, which suits a watch meant for daily dressing and evening occasions alike.
