Description
The Rado Centrix Automatic Diamonds is a unisex dress watch built around a black dial and a full ceramic construction. It suits anyone who wants a slim, modern bracelet watch with a touch of sparkle.
The watch runs on a Swiss automatic movement and sits in a 39.5mm ceramic case that is 11.3mm thick. A sapphire crystal covers the round black dial, which carries diamond accents and a crosshair face style. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres, enough for splashes and hand washing.
The ceramic bracelet, finished in gold tone, closes with a foldover clasp and tapers to an 18mm lug width. Because the case and bracelet share the same material, the watch wears as one clean piece and resists everyday scratches well, which makes it practical for daily office and evening wear.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I wear the Rado Centrix in the shower or pool?
The Centrix is rated to 50 metres, which generally covers rain, hand washing and light splashes. For showers, hot water and steam can affect seals over time, and swimming is not recommended. Treat it as a daily dress watch rather than a sport piece.
Is it suitable for daily office wear?
Yes for most people. The ceramic case and bracelet resist everyday scratches well, and the 39.5mm case with 11.3mm thickness slips under most cuffs. The Centrix works as a daily watch for office and evening use, as long as you avoid heavy impacts.
Will a 39.5mm case fit my wrist?
A 39.5mm round case generally suits wrists from about 6.5 to 7.5 inches. The ceramic bracelet with a foldover clasp is less adjustable than a leather strap, so check the wrist size before ordering. The Centrix is sold as unisex.
How does it differ from a quartz Rado model?
The Centrix runs on a Swiss automatic movement, so it needs no battery and is powered by wrist motion. Quartz models are usually thinner and more accurate, but the automatic gives a mechanical character. Compared with them, this is the alternative for those who prefer mechanical watches.
How often should this watch be serviced?
Automatic watches generally benefit from service every five years or so, including lubrication and a water resistance test. Since the Centrix is rated to 50 metres, a seal check at service helps keep it water resistant. There is no battery to replace.
What is special about the ceramic bracelet?
Ceramic is much harder than steel, so the Centrix bracelet resists scratches in daily wear. It is also lightweight and does not cause skin reactions for most people. The trade-off is that it can chip under hard impact.
Editor's take
Rado has long been the brand that treats ceramic as a core material, and the Centrix Automatic Diamonds shows that approach in a unisex format. A ceramic case and matching ceramic bracelet in a gold tone give it a consistent, modern look that sits between a dress piece and a fashion-forward bracelet watch.
The Swiss automatic movement removes the need for a battery, and the sapphire crystal over the black dial resists scratches far better than mineral glass. The diamond markers and crosshair dial add some sparkle without turning the face busy. At 39.5mm across and 11.3mm thick, it wears with moderate presence.
The limit here is water resistance. At 50 m, the watch handles rain and hand washing, but it is not meant for swimming or showers with steam and hot water. The listing also names no calibre or power reserve, so those who care about movement specifics will want to look elsewhere. The 18mm lug width also means the foldover clasp bracelet is the intended way to wear it.
It suits buyers who want a low-maintenance, scratch-resistant bracelet watch for office and evening wear. For a similar budget, a steel dress automatic from a Swiss maker offers more mechanical detail, whereas the Centrix prioritises material and finish.
