Editor's take
The Sekonda 1032 Maisy model represents a straightforward and accessible option for women seeking a reliable everyday timepiece. As part of Sekonda's offering, it embodies the brand's commitment to delivering functional watches with a classic aesthetic at an attractive price point. This watch is well-suited for those who appreciate traditional analogue displays and practical complications without venturing into complex horology.
Powering the Sekonda 1032 is a dependable Japanese quartz movement, known for its accuracy and low maintenance requirements. The watch features a robust metal case paired with a mineral glass crystal, offering adequate protection for daily wear. Its 50-metre water resistance rating means it can comfortably handle splashes, showering, and even light swimming, making it a versatile companion for various activities.
While the 50m water resistance is practical for most daily scenarios, it's important to note that this watch is not designed for serious diving or prolonged submersion, lacking the ISO certification of a dedicated dive watch. The absence of a screw-down crown, typical for this water resistance level, means care should be taken during water exposure. Furthermore, the stainless steel bracelet offers durability, but some users might prefer a lighter or more adjustable strap option.
Ultimately, the Sekonda 1032 is an excellent choice for individuals desiring a no-fuss, stylish, and functional watch for daily use. Its classic design and practical day-date complication make it a strong contender in the affordable quartz segment. For those seeking a more robust or feature-rich timepiece, exploring models with higher water resistance or additional complications might be a suitable alternative.
