Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Sekonda 3730 watch suitable for swimming or showering?
The Sekonda 3730 has a water resistance rating of 50 metres, making it suitable for light swimming and bathing. However, it is generally not recommended to wear any watch in the shower due to potential issues with steam and temperature changes affecting the seals over time.
How often does the battery need to be replaced in this quartz watch?
The Sekonda 3730 uses a 377 (silver oxide) battery, which typically lasts up to 2 years. Battery life can vary based on usage, but a replacement is generally needed around this timeframe to maintain optimal performance.
How does the Sekonda 3730 compare to other everyday watches in its price range?
The Sekonda 3730 stands out with its reliable Japanese quartz movement, classic 41mm stainless steel design, and practical date complication. It offers a strong balance of style, functionality, and affordability, making it a competitive option for daily wear compared to many alternatives.
Is the Sekonda 3730 a good choice for daily wear?
Yes, the Sekonda 3730 is designed as a versatile everyday timepiece. Its durable stainless steel construction, 50m water resistance, and accurate quartz movement make it suitable for a wide range of daily activities and occasions, offering both style and reliability.
What wrist size is this 41mm watch suitable for?
With its 41mm case diameter and 18mm lug width, the Sekonda 3730 is generally suitable for a wide range of men's wrist sizes, typically fitting wrists from 6.5 to 8 inches comfortably. The stainless steel bracelet can also be adjusted by removing links for a custom fit.
Can I wear the Sekonda 3730 for sports activities?
The Sekonda 3730 is a sport watch designed for everyday versatility and light activities. While its 50m water resistance allows for swimming, it is not built for high-impact sports or professional diving. For more intense sports, a dedicated robust sports watch would be more appropriate.
Editor's take
The Sekonda 3730 represents an accessible entry into reliable timekeeping, designed for the modern man who appreciates straightforward functionality and classic aesthetics. This model is a versatile companion, equally at home in a business casual environment or during weekend activities, embodying a no-fuss approach to wristwear.
At its core, the Sekonda 3730 is powered by a dependable Japanese quartz movement, known for its accuracy and low maintenance requirements. The watch features a robust 41mm stainless steel case that offers a comfortable presence on the wrist, complemented by a clear mineral glass protecting the black dial. Its 50-metre water resistance makes it suitable for daily exposure to water, such as hand washing or light rain.
While the mineral glass offers good shatter resistance, it is more prone to scratches compared to sapphire crystal, a common trade-off at this price point. For those seeking a watch for more rigorous water sports or activities requiring extreme durability, a model with higher water resistance and a more scratch-resistant crystal might be a better consideration.
Ultimately, the Sekonda 3730 is an excellent choice for individuals seeking a practical, stylish, and affordable everyday watch. It's particularly well-suited for first-time watch buyers or as a reliable secondary timepiece. For those desiring enhanced durability or specific horological complications, exploring other Sekonda quartz chronographs or entry-level automatic watches could provide suitable alternatives.
