Editor's take
The Stuhrling Original Rasa 3997.03 positions itself as an accessible and stylish dress watch for the modern man. With its ultra-slim profile and classic design cues, it's a versatile timepiece that transitions seamlessly from the boardroom to evening events, appealing to those who favour understated elegance and comfort.
At its core, the Rasa 3997.03 is powered by a reliable Japanese quartz movement, ensuring precise timekeeping without the need for daily winding. The 40mm stainless steel case offers a balanced presence on the wrist, complemented by a durable Krysterna crystal (mineral glass) protecting the distinctive white skeleton dial. Its 50-metre water resistance provides adequate protection against splashes and brief immersion, making it suitable for daily wear.
While the genuine calfskin leather strap adds to its sophisticated appeal and comfort, the 50m water resistance means this watch is not designed for swimming or showering, which is a common limitation for many dress watches. The skeleton dial, while visually engaging, might not be for everyone, particularly those who prioritise maximum legibility above all else.
This watch is an excellent choice for individuals seeking a dependable, elegant, and low-profile timepiece for professional or formal settings. For those desiring a mechanical movement or higher water resistance for more active lifestyles, exploring other categories or brands might be a more suitable alternative.
