Description
The Amazfit Active 3 Premium is a smartwatch aimed at runners and multisport users who want accurate tracking without carrying a phone. It pairs a stainless steel case with a silicone strap and a round 1.32-inch AMOLED display.
Sapphire glass protects the screen, and the watch is rated to 50 m of water resistance, suitable for swimming. GPS works with six satellite systems and supports free offline maps with turn-by-turn directions and automatic rerouting. The BioTracker sensor covers heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep.
Battery life reaches up to 12 days, so daily jogs, recovery days and long weekend sessions need fewer charges. Zepp Coach offers personalized plans from 5K to marathon, and Bluetooth calls plus Zepp Flow voice commands keep everyday communication on the wrist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim with the Amazfit Active 3 Premium?
Yes for pool and shallow swimming. The watch is rated to 50 m water resistance, which handles swimming and showers. It is not meant for scuba or high-speed water sports, so keep those sessions to a dedicated dive watch.
How long does the battery last on a daily run routine?
Amazfit quotes up to 12 days of battery life on typical use. With daily GPS runs and the always on display enabled you will usually get noticeably less, so plan on charging more often during heavy training weeks.
Will it fit a small wrist?
The page lists a round dial with a silicone strap and buckle, so the strap is adjustable. Case diameter is not stated here, so try it on a wrist measurement similar to yours, or check the manufacturer size before buying.
Do I need my phone for navigation on a run?
No. The Active 3 Premium has built-in GPS using six satellite systems and supports free offline maps with turn-by-turn directions and automatic rerouting. Download the maps through the Zepp App first, then leave your phone at home.
How is it different from a regular fitness band?
Compared with a basic band, this model adds sapphire glass, a stainless steel case, a larger 1.32-inch AMOLED screen and offline maps. It also includes Zepp Coach plans, making it more of an alternative to a sports watch.
Can I take calls and reply to messages?
You can make Bluetooth calls from the wrist and use Zepp Flow voice commands. Speech-to-text replies to instant messages work with Android phones, so iPhone users should expect a narrower feature set for messaging.
Editor's take
Amazfit built the Active 3 Premium for runners who want a proper training tool without paying flagship prices. It sits in the Active line and pairs a stainless steel case with a silicone strap, so it reads more like a sport watch than a plastic fitness band.
The headline hardware is the sapphire glass over a round 1.32-inch AMOLED display, which resists scratches and stays readable in direct sun. Navigation is handled by GPS across six satellite systems, with free offline maps and turn-by-turn directions, so a run no longer depends on a phone. The BioTracker sensor adds heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep data.
The tradeoff is water resistance: 50 m covers swimming and showers, but it is not a dive-rated figure, whatever the sport list on the page suggests. Battery life of up to 12 days is generous for an AMOLED smartwatch, yet heavy GPS use will shorten it noticeably.
It suits runners and hikers who want maps and coaching from Zepp Coach on the wrist. Buyers who want multi-week battery life or a rotating bezel should look at dedicated sports watches from Garmin or Coros in a similar price range.

Active 3 Premium in Comparison to Other Amazfit Smartwatches
Active 3 Premium
Stainless Steel Case Construction
The Active 3 Premium uses a stainless steel case, a material long trusted in watchmaking for its resistance to wear and its stable, honest weight on the wrist. The finish holds up to daily contact with desks, doorframes and gym equipment without looking tired.
Sapphire Crystal Protection
A sapphire crystal covers the display, ranking 9 on the Mohs scale and second only to diamond in scratch resistance. For a watch worn through training and commuting alike, this keeps the dial legible and clear over years of use rather than months.
Silicone Strap For Daily Wear
The silicone strap is soft, light and indifferent to sweat, rain and repeated rinsing. It suits long sessions and sleep tracking, and its standard lug fit allows a swap to another strap if you prefer a different look for the office.
Rated To 50 Meters
Water resistance is rated to 50 meters, which covers handwashing, showers, rain and pool swimming. As with any watch at this rating, it is not intended for diving or high-velocity water sports, and seals should be rinsed with fresh water after salt exposure.
A Smart Watch With Watch Discipline
Reference A2559 sits in the smart watch category but is built with the proportions and materials of a conventional sports watch. It aims to track activity and notifications without abandoning the restraint a traditional watch wearer expects from a case and dial.
Built For Training And Routine
Pairing a steel case, sapphire glass and a washable strap, the Active 3 Premium is made for people who train often and still want a watch that looks right afterward. It is a practical daily piece, designed to be worn hard and checked often.
